1) Who are some guitar players similar in style to Mick?

2) I read somewhere that Mick Taylor based his guitar style on a famous saxophonist--who was this saxophonist?

1) Carlos Santana, who claims Taylor changed his style, and always cites Time Waits for No One as an influence.  Try the Santana live album Moonflower.

Guitarists similar to MT:

Peter Green, Albert King, Rory Gallagher, Duane Allman (slide)

Just noticed something strange: on iTunes, Too Hot For Snakes (MT/Carla Olson), the last track is "Think I'm Goin' Mad" - same tune from Emotional Rescue sessions.  Why would MT care to cover this tune?  Surely it wasn't a holdover, ala Tops or Waiting on a Friend?  Check it out - it's the last track on the "Too Hot For Snakes (Plus)" album.
