Kind of a painful mess. Keith does his best to rescue it, playing slide on a Tele, which is pretty unusual. Man, does that synth sound dated. I think it sounded dated even then.

The video I have of this show comes from a different source and you can see Ronnie (I think) make a 'cut throat' gesture at Mick after they did it as if to say "well, we wont be doing THAT again!"

I actually think its a pretty good version. Mick seems a bit awkward centre stage behind a little synth but I liked what they were trying to do with the slide guitars.

I agree with that ... makes me want to hear the good, pre-Dust Bros. version that Keith claimed was lying "in my trunk."

That's exactly what I thought when I heard it. I love that Mick takes risks and introduces new and ground breaking stuff to the band and to music in general, but I just wish that he realizes that some of his best stuff should just be left alone and stripped down.

Very cool, I had been curious to see it played live.

Music, to me, is the joy, right? I love my kids most of the time, and I love my wife most of the time. Music I love all the time. It's the only constant thing in my life. It's the one thing you can count on. :Keith Richards 1993

Thanks for posting.  I listen to the song every once in a while, I dig it.  Some of the songs on that tour sounded like shite live, whether it be performance or production.  Like Low Down, decent song, should be a rocker live, but was messy.  KR doesn't bust out the slide on stage much, so that is a treat.  A slower, more hypnotic groove woulda suited "Juiced" much better.

"groundbreaking"...is a bit of a stretch...more like unconventional for the Stones and latching on to the latest trend......do you recall that 2 1/2 seconds of Biz Markie in "Has Anybody Seen My baby?"

The Dust Brothers were already a known production / DJ team ( Fight Club OST...an awesome CD!!!)

I'm glad to know that the folks who attended thought it sounded good. Some parts didn't work for me, and I'll be honest-this is my least favorite song they've released. I have always wanted to hear the version keef talked about.  Sounds like it could have been a really good blues tune.

I wasn't talking about Might as Well Get Juiced being ground breaking. In fact, my point was that it's essentially a blues that was screwed around with and made to sound shite. What I was referring to was when Mick experiments and gives the world stuff like Sympathy for the Devil, Miss You, Fingerprint File, Continental Drift, the list is endless. I just wish he would leave certain things alone and let them stand on their own but still take his risks as well. However,  by doing that, we may not get the gems he comes up with. Still, this should have been left bare and then we would know what it's really like. I would also love to hear the pre Dust Brothers/Mick version of Anybody Seen my Baby. That Biz Markie bit was awful and the loops sounded terrible. However, even on its own, that song won't shake anyone's foundations. Nice melody but not ground breaking.
