“What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there,” he says. “All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another.” - Keef

Wow, dude's old and ramblin' almost more than Keith! He did get to say that same story to someone for the 2010 rerelease of Exile, at least that's when I heard it.

That was part of a long interview where he also said that Mick had fired him during the mixing sessions in LA since he was taking too long, I seem to remember only 5 tracks had been done and then asked him to come back as no one was able to handle the tapes. Was also shocked to find out in that interview that Jimmy Miller was pretty much a non-entity at that time already.

Exile is the first Glimmer Twins record.  Partly because it was recorded all over the map, you can hear the departure from Beggars and Let it Bleed.  Jimmy Miller's last stylistic influence is on Goats Head Soup - the band seems to be making a part-Exile, part-Jimmy album.  The Andy Johns drum sound is gone by Black and Blue.

Andy and Mick Taylor for the last studio album?  They'd look great posing for pictures with Bobby Keys.
