From what I've been told, the band DID actually meet earlier this month (even though the Ronnie interview in the Glastonbury thread seems to indicate otherwise - maybe it's an old interview).
Just the four of them, no management present or anyone else.
They'll meet again in the New Year - although it could be as late as February which isn't a great sign IMO for anyone hoping for a new record or tour anytime soon.
Still nothing concrete as yet for future touring plans.
So does Fall 2011 look possible. Or is it getting too late for that as well?
The only facts I know are what I posted, mate. Anything else I heard is speculative at the minute. Doesnt exactly give them much time to put any new music together though if they're going to tour in 2011.

Your right No it wouldn't give them much time... Last time out Don Was said that there was material from previous sessions they were thinking about working into the Bigger Bang sessions. Then he went on to say "but this all seems to be of a piece".... meaning their current work (which became A Bigger Bang) was all from a cloth that he wanted to keep going with versus trying to integrate any of the previous session material.
Soooo... possibly they have that material to go over again if they want to use it this time out if they are to release an album in 2011 which wouldn't necessarily require the usual needed time ...
As well, Keith said they had material they couldn't use on ABB in which he was probably talking about the same stuff.
So maybe they are going to try and get some of that cooking in conjunction with some new stuff in which it wouldn't take as long as the norm?
This is the only thing I can think of because as you noted... starting now, much less February... just wouldn't be all that much time.... In fact ... if it were to be all new material they sought to do... it just isn't realistically enough time you'd think. Especially when factoring in mixing the album, cover art, stage design, tour rehearsals, etc. etc. It really doesn't seem like it could fit... how could it?... if all this was to be new material and assuming they are going to release an album in late summer or early fall to coincide with a tour...
Interesting.
