Joan Baez falls from her Northern California Treehouse

The legendary folk singer and political activist Joan Baez lost footing and plunged from a treehouse on her Northern California property.

The 20-foot tumble took the 69-year-old singer to Stanford Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

The treehouse is located behind her house in Woodside, California where she resides with her mother.

Baez discussed her treehouse with the Post-Gazette in a 2002 interview where she stated,

“I sleep in it all summer. It doesn't have a roof on it, so when it rains I have to go inside. You know those relaxation tapes that say, go to someplace where you're really happy? For me, it's out there in my tree house with a handful of bird seed and a chickadee on my hand”.

It is reported Baez is "resting comfortably".
