My take on the book? Much the same as yours. Of course, I was personally gratified that the first hero in the book was a fellow criminal defense attorney, Bill Carter. I was also particularly struck, as I am sure you were, by this passage on page 493 regarding the telephone call Keith received from Hoagy Carmichael: "I had always thought Carmichael was so right-wing, I doubted whether he'd ever approve of me or me doing his song." What's your take on that comment?
