I dunno about Riffy, but here's my victory speech: You will recall that I made two election predictions: first, that Harry Reid would be reelected; second, that Democrats would retain control of Congress. The first prediction was 100% correct; the second was half right (we held the Senate). My predictions are thus 75% right.

You better thank those 5 people in Nevada that put Harry over the 50%. As far as the electorate when is there going be a grass roots revolt demanding term limits on these long term trough mongers?
We already have term limits. Senate terms are six years; House terms are two years. If the voters want to reelect their Senator or Representative in perpetuity, who are you to deny them that choice? Should corporate CEOs also have term limits? So-called term limits result in rookie legislators being controlled by veteran lobbysits. That is why corporate interests like the term limits idea.
Brainy
Well if the highest office in the land can be limited to 2 terms why can't all the other positions? And long term politicians don't become even more beholding to lobbyists? While we are at it change wise:
*Ban ear marks
*Allow President line item veto
*Supreme Court mandatory retirement at 75
*Stop the constant re-districting by state ruling parties
*Mandate that budgets must be balanced (spend only what you collect in taxes)
*Eliminate the tax code and set a flat percentage rate zero deductions
*Put all the newly unemployed tax consultants (as per above) in schools teaching freakin math
*Get rid of NASA as a wasteful excess (Tang be damned)
*Allow profiling in airports and let me keep my fucking shoes on
*Limit tv advertising to 30 days before the election that should be plenty of time to tell us how awful the other guy is
