Elvin Bishop doing "Fooled Around and Fell in Love"..the solo is one of the best guitar solos ever.
You got that right, Elvin Bishop is fantastic, while we're on that subject, let's not forget Mike Bloomfield, who I believe Elvin replaced in Paul Butterfield's Blues Band.
Elvin didn't replace Bloomfield in the Butterfield Band; they played together. They're both on the eponymous first album and
East/West, at least. BTW, I worked at a show back in 1973 headlined by Country Joe McDonald (who sucked), with Elvin Bishop (who rocked), Sons of Champlin (ditto) and Stoneground. I started in the parking lot directing traffic pre-show, but I ended up helping move equipment on and off stage--a fucking roady for a day. I was at the edge of the stage behind the speakers (stage right) during Elvin's set; this was around the peak of his "Struttin' My Stuff" popularity and he put on a great show.
