The Wick and Real Wild Child, I can only pray for your souls that one day you will see the artistic wonderfulness (is that even a word?  ) that is Johnny Depp.

To start with, his love for Keith is 100% honest - I mean, it's so obvious, it doesn't need much explaning. And that earns him extra points in my book (as if he hadn't enough already!)

Secondly, I cannot love him enough for his views, the way he chooses to live, the respect for his family and his superb acting. I'm not gonna hold against him two or three bad role choices the past few years - the fact that he can play in a movie that I wouldn't dream of watching and he's good in it, making it worthwhile, well... Not too many actors can do that.

The Pirates films have done him good and bad in various ways - he was more sort of 'underground' before them, but what, can you blame him for being good at what he does? "Pirates" wouldn't have had one sequel if it hadn't been for Depp's Jack Sparrow.

LOL. Me too. When I saw the 'Keith in London' headline, I thought "Ian will SALIVATE over this". And then I saw the header - 'Mick in New York'.  Its like they're torturing us.

As for what he's doing in London, I think it's quite possible he'll soon be doing some interviews for his autobiography. It's out late October, so if he's going to do any major press interviews for monthly magazines that come out around the same time (eg Uncut, Mojo and the like), they'll usually have to take place no less than 4-6 weeks beforehand.

Expect a Keith media overload in the next couple of months.

As he’s here in England, I’m hoping Keith will swing by Dartford and pop his head in the Ivy Leaf for the weekly quiz this Sunday. He can have a chat with the couple who reside in his old Temple Hill council house – in fact, they moved in directly after Doris Richards left.

Although I don't think he's as amazing an actor as you might think, I have thought he was brilliant in quite a few films. I have always thought Blow is an incredibly underrated film and a few others were excellent (the Pirates movies, however, are not one of those and after a few minutes of the first one, I had to turn it off). This has nothing to do with that and to be honest, his family life, I don't give a toss about. What annoys me is when people copy. I know perfectly well that he loves Keith and that Keith is idol, however, I just like people to be original. It's the same thing with lead singers who copy Mick like Chris Robinson. If you watch the Black Crowes, it's as if he decided to copy the performances from Gimme Shelter, move by move.

Knowing our luck he'll camp out at Heathrow for days to do just that - and Mick will fly into Gatwick to avoid him.....

That kind of distance is what makes Johnny's admiration of Keith and their easy companionship so appealing.
Depp has even made a decent pirate character out of it and put Keith in the films too.  I'm not a fan of the series, but hey.

I rather like the way they both dress, although I have to admit, Depp's eyeliner is completely derivative, whether for
his role or not.   Heehee.
