Since I don't own a bass, this isn't really powerful sounding. Plus I used a drum track and it's mixed too loudly but I did think I got the Mick J. vocals ok enough, while the Mick T. guitar is very pleasing. Still, compression means you might need to turn it up or listen on headphones. Anyway, rip/slam/praise it all you want, here she is:

Thanks. I see you posted it too. I'm honoured but kind've flattered. Oh all this attention now! It's ok, I'd rather people pay attention for something good I've done.

Nice heavy, grungy version!  Really dig the vocal phrasings too.

Good effort, and generally good sound, but....

I don't think you should try to copy Mick's voice.  My very first impression with this was that the vocals are contrived and not your "natural voice" as a voice teacher would say.  Kurt Marschke can copy Mick's vocal tonalities very natually because that happens to be Kurt's natural voice; it's not yours.  I think if you really want to be successful with other people's music, you should really try to make the song your own, which you have not done with this one.

Let me take a step back for a moment and tell you that I'm not excited by most cover bands.  I believe if you really want to make your mark in the world with other people's music, try to really own it.  You know, like Joe Cocker did with "With a Little Help From My Friends."  He didn't try to sing like the Beatles.

I liked the fuzz in the guitar, but I would caution you to not have too much distortion - you have plenty.  Also, I think you should slow the tempo down just a wee bit.

I just wanted to sing it verbatim, not try anything different. I wasn't trying to sound exactly like Mick. It was just to get it out there but if I were to do a commercial record with a cover of "Sway" I'd sing and arrange it differently for sure. I didn't feel like reinventing it to suit my style just for a youtube vid but I see what you're saying. I've written my own music and posted that too so I'm not quite a cover act either. Plus it's faster than the Stones version so I did put a slightly different spin on it so slowing it down would make it even more of a straight copy.
