Anybody Own a Glockenspiel?

What would I have to pay on average to get one that sounds nice (that is if I can learn to play the thing)? Are those $60 ones (new) worth playing?

I've always liked the sound of them and figure I don't want to wake up 20 years from now and regret that I never tried it. I tried saxophone for the same reason and grew to have a tremendous respect for what a good sax player has to do to make music.

Just to give you some perspective, I have 35 years of guitar playing experience, I studied tenor saxophone for half a year in 2002, and I know some basic piano theory because I took a couple years of piano in elementary school.

Out of 100 band members...we had like 3 bells... T They do sound pleasant in a parade when there are like 30 playing in unison.

"Like the bells?" Do you mean similar to the bells? No, I don't believe so. One would need to know the musical scale and the piano-like layout. I'm thinking of this for a hand-held version that one could carry in a marching band:

Do you mean "approximately 30 playing in unison?" They would have to be struck in perfect unison to sound good if that large a quantity.

You seem to use the word "like" to excess. Does this mean that you're under age 27 or 28?
