R ecently, a `friend request' on Facebook from one Mandy Smith had me thinking very hard. The only Mandy Smith I knew of is a celebrity, who had married a 52-year-old rock star when she was 18. It could not be her but the request was good enough to get my memory racing.

This is probably the biggest scandal stories rock 'n' roll history has to narrate and it has a Rolling Stones bassist as the protagonist.

For the Stones aficionados, the story should sound familiar. Bill Wyman, the bassist of the popular British rock brand, was known for his legendary sexual encounters in his youth and after.

In fact, when his affair with the teenager Mandy started, people began to wonder where his talent lay. Was he good with the guitar or better still with women?

Bill was dating Mandy who was only 13 when they first met. He was 47, married and divorced with a son. When his teenage girlfriend turned 18, a grand wedding awaited the couple, much to the delight of gossip magazines and the paparazzi.

And if you were wondering, what's so controversial about the story, here's the twist in the tale: Bill's stepson Stephen was going around with Mandy's mother and was on the verge of marrying her. The son of a rock star was playing catch-up with his incestuous father by marrying his motherin-law. How terrible can that be? Fortunately, the knot was not tied and Mandy did not conceive a child, making life way much easier for their prospective offsprings, who would find their mother to be the daughter of their sister-in-law.

For contributing such a sleazy story, Maxim magazine put Bill on it list of Living Sex Legends.

And as for Mandy, she broke up with him and is now living a celibate life, teaching young women how to avoid making similar mistakes.

Steven Tyler is another rock and roller who stirred up the media by making his teenage daughter strip in a music video of Crazy. Liv Tyler, the Aerosmith frontman's daughter, appeared in the music video along with Alicia Silverstone as a school kid who strips in a beer bar after school.

What father would make a daughter do that?

Steven's act may be as hideous as it may sound but somehow the public took it positively. Here's a father who is not afraid of showing off his beautiful daughter. Later, Liv went on to become a sensation on the silver screen and I wonder if that would have been the case had it not been for a rock star daddy.

It has not been so lucky for Mandy who, probably wanting some of the limelight, few months ago made headlines in British tabloids by saying, "I did sleep with Bill Wyman when I was 14... but now the only man in my life is God."
