SO only old farts can be stones fans?
Actually, the Peas have been doing a "killer, Stonesy" live version of Miss You for years, way before they became popular and Fergie played "Sweethearts Together" as her firs dance at her wedding. Benicio Del Toro has mentioned the Stones before, how he was growing up and discovered them from Emotional Rescue....As for Jack White, the Stripes are blues-based so it makes sense that he would be a Stones fans. And Sheryl Crow and Liz Phair seemed to be real fans of the album.....The guy from the Kings of Leon sounded like he just discovered them and Don Was was as pretentious as ever and Scorsese sounded academic. I don't begrudge them their Stones love, but they just were not necessary. Thses kind of guests, talking heads, always date a doc like this.

there's something about that album, the footage they use, that 'era' that reminds me of one of those old Italian horror movies. It's all just so raunchy, sleezy, sticky, nasty, and incredible.

Learning about the 8 year old kids rolling joints for the grownups was pretty eye opening!

I could sit there and watch that raw footage that they shot back then all day long. I'd love to see all of that stuff. I wouldn't care if it's just them standing there talking and smoking cigarettes.

The era I call the "world champship run"-love it

I still yet to purchase this - and this someone who forked out for the super-deluxe Exile package! I didn't even bother to watch it on the telly!

They left out a hell of a lot of stuff. I only read today about the Kings of Leon at some festival. All the other acts gave them some upraised fingers because of their "diva" antics.

And the dude from Leon embarrassed himself AND us fans by trying to tell us the album was "cool".

Fuck him.

I noticed Charlie has trouble talking as if swallowing at same time but liked to hear his opinon and Keith is noticeably shaky maybe due to blood sugar or meds or something and seemed  depressed to me (maybe due to being unemployed or dau posing nude lol?).   I was hoping they would be able to enter the nellcote house or that there was video footage of the sessions but alas not.  still it was a good shot at explaining things. It was nice to hear Bill's input and Anita's take on that time it must have been difficult having so many people crashing there.

I thought the opposite of Keith. I can't remember seeing him so calm. How he talks, and not laughing hystericly after every sentence, not scratcing his head, not schratching anywhere, and just talking sense. The first sober interview in a few decades I've seen.

No mention of Stu was odd.  The scenes that were shot to look like the 70's sucked and pulled me right out of the documentary. I watched it once and put it away. It's really not that good. I could give two shits about pop stars who think it's cool.
