Personally, I think we had the edge – just about. Gerard’s goal was well-taken and I think our number of chances outweighed those that the USA had. On reflection, we’ll take the draw. It’ll be us and the USA to qualify from this group, with us making the quarters – and loosing the plot – and the USA going out in the last-16 stage.

As for Robert Green? He’s an England goalie – what do you expect? We excel at such blunders.

A snoozefest so far. The two games today have been absolutely turgid. At this rate, it could threaten Italia '90 as dullest tournament ever.

Brazil, Spain and The Netherlands havent played yet, however. So, hopefully that'll kick start it into life as (with the possible exception of Argentina) they're potentially the most entertaining sides in the tournament.

just watched serb/ghana game... ghana looked fast and very tight passing... i don't get to watch them live, i record them and play catch up... i get to avoid halftime... it will definitely ramp up... i have a feeling the aus. germany game is going to be wothwhile...
for those don't like this sport, don't post here complaining how you don't like the sport, it's the most popular game in the world and this is the biggest single sport event in the world, if you can't appreciate the athleticims and skill involved, so what if the game bores you, then go do something that doesn't bore you... you know the old saying, if you don't got nothing to say, then shut up?

Ah, well this is citizenship for you. I cannot speak for other European nations, but here in the UK, you are no longer a British Citizen by birth: I.E., being born on British soil. Status is either passed on through the parents - in the first instance - or gained through Naturalisation or Registration through the Home Office. The other option - the most ghastly, IMO - is that of 'treaty rights' - I won't bore you with that one! After a few bottles of Stella Artois, I shall be ranting all evening!

The soundtrack to the World Cup has been a steady buzz, but the noise could soon be coming to an end.

South Africa's World Cup organizing chief Danny Jordaan said Sunday there is a chance vuvuzelas may be banned from inside stadiums after numerous complaints, BBC News has reported.

Asked whether he'd consider getting rid of the trumpets, he said: "If there are grounds to do so, yes. We did say that if any land on the pitch in anger we will take action."

France captain Patrice Evra has already blamed the noise generated by the vuvuzelas for his team's poor showing in its opening 0-0 draw with Uruguay.

"We can't sleep at night because of the vuvuzelas," Evra said. "People start playing them from 6 a.m. We can't hear one another out on the pitch because of them."

Jordaan said organizers are doing everything possible.

"We've tried to get some order," Jordaan said. "We have asked for no vuvuzelas during national anthems or stadium announcements. It's difficult, but we're trying to manage the best we can."

Paraguay was great! 1-1 against the champions it's not an easy task. My favourite team here is "Toluca" and for years they had a Paraguayan forward "Cardoso" probably one of the best I have ever seen, fantastic player. ALso we have very good, cool and rocking bastards from Paraguay at our message board in Spanish

Netherlands and Germany have been the best so far
