I thought Mick handled it great, like a pro,  but what got me was all the commercials, there was no need for the Beatles part, that was just a question he asked Mick & he had to show the Beatles when it was all about Exile's re-release? I would guess that someone will have the interview on Youtube.

My thoughts exactly.  Criminal the amount of commercials and beatle content.  Kind of insulting.  And why the two guitar props if they aren't going to be used. And LK thinks he "played" with the beatles. yea right.   what a fool

In 1964 The Who were unheard of outside UK. Beatles/Stones....then Kinks/Animals/DC5 or even Beach Boys...........

I hate to burst you're bubble Joey, but in '64, the Who were not even "known with all those other British invasion groups, at least not in Canada or the States, I think it was '65 or even '66 when they got "known as a group with "My Generation"

Same difference, the point being that greatness is timeless and those bands, and I would add Dylan, have yet to be eclipsed.

I thought Mick handled himself with great dignity, despite the commercials that seemed endless, and the Beatle content, which was insulting.

By the way, In 1964 the most popular bands were the Stones, Beatles, Kinks, Animals, and Beach Boys.

I noticed that Mick mentioned Big Bill Broonzy as one of his early influences.

Ray Davies frequently mentions Big Bill as a major influence.

The 'Oo were barely known outside Shepherds Bush in 1964, Joey. In fact they werent even known as The Who for part of it.

Their first chart success 'I Cant Explain' wasnt released until early '65.

Music, to me, is the joy, right? I love my kids most of the time, and I love my wife most of the time. Music I love all the time. It's the only constant thing in my life. It's the one thing you can count on. :Keith Richards 1993

A torrent of it is on the Traders Den, for anyone who's interested (cant access the site from work so I cant post the link right now)

That was fucking toe-curlingly excruciating, to be honest. As bad as I expected, through no fault of Mick's. I was actually embarrassed for Mick that he had to sit through that. CNN have a good reputation for employing quality journalists and broadcasters, so how the hell has that clampett managed to carve out such a lucrative and lengthy career? He's the Bon Jovi of interviewers. Only with better hair.

Yeah but at least you know she has an agenda (being a cunt) going into it. Lay King is just plain clueless and  keeps getting propped up. Interesting stuff Ronnie!

Warner Music Group.

This is the video blocked from Warner's, only thing I can see is two very quick shots of Mick & Keith swigging out of a bottle from "Gimme Shelter" I guess Warner's was part of that, this upload made it on there (for now anyway)
