Let me break this down for you in simple terms, as people just don't seem to understand...
1 gallon of water weighs approx 8.5 lbs.
The oil geyser is 1 mile below the surface.
Assuming that you were only taking a section of water that was one inch across but one mile deep, you would still have approx. 4,344,685.7 gallons of water, or 36,929,828.45 lbs of water.
Observe how the oil is SPEWING out, indicitive of the fact that the pressure coming out is far greater than 36 million psi...
Do you know of any materials, short of the earth itself that can withstand and contain those kind of pressures? Obama doesn't, and neither does BP...
Long story short, that's why it isn't fixed yet. Longer story shorter, that's why it should have never been allowed to be done in the first place.

they need to make arrests starting with Hayward.

If only acting like an insensitive little bitch was a crime, he'd be behind bars already.

Go to Google, just type in Tony and "Tony Hayward" pops up #1!  Grin

...

Type in asshole and he should pop up as well..........

No,then you get George Bush.

How has GW been insensitive in this issue SCL?  Me thinks you have a touch of "Blame Bush" syndrome which is
so associated with the present administration.  I would find the definition to fit this administration more.
After all, it's been over 70 days the poor people of the gulf have been held hostage by President Inaction, The
Observer in Chief.  This debacle will sink the ever cautious lawyer president quicker than Monica went down on Clinton.
I always like to think the glass is 1/2 full, there's still time for him to rescue this, however, with each passing day of in-action,
it gets tougher.

Ahh Nellie. I was just trying to make a joke. You know, the same way the Pubs like to throw our current commander in the chief under the bus just for snicks. The same way that everything from the gulf oil leak to the global economy to immigration to the Lindbergh baby kidnapping to the Hindenburg disaster seems to be blamed on the current occupant of 1600.....So let's do things your way. What if....McCain was elected president? What would he do different? Invade Britain? Hell Sarah Palin can't even spell BP. Would they waterboard Tony Hayward?....Not a bad idea....But perhaps instead, you can give me one name. Just one is all I ask. Of someone who can waltz down 1600,take occupancy in the big round office and stop the oil from leaking and while they're at it. Go ahead and create world peace,a thriving world economy and the end to all of the world's evil's.....I anxiously await the mention of that magical name.

When you're flying high on cocaine and partying with the MMS, they signed off on everything... Just remember all the people who had no problem with the energy policy written behind closed doors... and they are the same ones who bitched about healthcare being done behind closed doors... this is what happens when special interests and big business takeover govt. and then dicvide the people with bullshit political distractions, you get two impotent parties, pretending to be a govt being run behind closed doors by greedy corrupt and unnacountable groups. Let's revise, economy fucked, envoirment fucked, endless wars.... hmmm...? ask yourself, who should I blame? When did this start? It started long before you were born, and it really took off after WWII, but the banks took over about 25 years before that... enjoy the ride while it lasts... at least we have food and electricity and somewhat clean water to drink!!!

Something is very wrong with the oil well "cap"!

Google "Skandi ROV2" and the first link is BP's Skandi ROV2 live camera feed ... The "cap" is rocking back and forth ... It's never done this before ... And the oil is GUSHING OUT like never before! ... Could the "rocking" be from the hurricane?

Grand Isle concert to take place of 2010 Tarpon Rodeo
Published: Thursday, July 01, 2010, 1:11 PM Updated: Thursday, July 01, 2010, 1:44 PM
The Times-Picayune

Grand Isle Island Aid Concert will be held Saturday, July 24, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., officials announced today.

It will take place on the beach directly across from the Community Center, 3811 Highway 1.

The concert will take the place of this year's Tarpon Rodeo, which has been cancelled because of the BP oil spill.

Admission is $10 per person for the all-day concert. Revenue from ticket sales will go to the Grand Isle Alive Promotion Fund to raise money to aid in rebuilding the fishing and tourism industry in Grand Isle.

The event will feature two entertainment stages, food, crafts, clothing, commemorative Island Aid Concert memorabilia and more. The lineup includes Three Dog Night, Little River Band, Doug Kershaw, Lorrie Morgan, Amanda Shaw, Top Cats and the Wise Guys.

For information, check the Tarpon Rodeo website: http://www.tarponrodeo.org/GITR/Home.html

Hurricane and storms like that do not do anything under the sea, only the surface... after you down a few feet in the water, even in a cat 5, you wouldn't know anything was going on above... FYI... in deep sea water, not shallow near the coast.

Testimony before a Senate investigative panel this week is expected to reveal what many have suspected about BP all along; they don’t care about the environment, the animals that are dying, and the lives that are being destroyed by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

In a shocking interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper on June 29th, Allegiance Capitol Corporation V.P. Fred McCallister said that BP is deliberately sinking oil with the toxic chemical disbursant Corexit, to hide the size of the oil spill. By sinking the oil before it can be collected, BP won’t have to pay fines on it.

McCallister said, “Everybody in Europe, where the standard practice is to raise the oil and collect it, is scratching their heads, and quite honestly laughing at what’s happening in the Gulf.” He added, “Everyone is looking at us and wondering why we’re allowing this to happen.”

McCallister is set to appear before a Senate investigative panel on Thursday and testify that BP’s only interests regarding the Deepwater Horizon spill is protectimg their own financial interests. His statements explained why BP has been refusing offers of help from additional foreign skimmers.
BP’s fear is that independent skimmers would be able to count the number of gallons collected, and thus provide the US government with data to assess spill rate financial penalties against BP, according to McCallister.

“BP is in control of this situation and they are doing what’s in the best interests of BP and their shareholders,” McCallister said.

Saw this-

The bottom line is this. We have been and are being lied to since the very beginning of this disaster. The Government signed off on this disaster long before April 20. The Republicans and Democrats have had their chance time and time again only to fail us all miserably. They very well may be failing the Human Race as well. They are still not telling us the truth of the magnitude of this disaster. There is a horrible report from a well respected Russian scientist (The only man to go down and see first hand the Deep Water Horizon site) saying the seafloor is cracked and beyond any and all repair. According to his reports there are 18 leaks coming directly from the seafloor. The largest being 7 miles away from the leak we are being shown on television. I really hope this man is wrong, that would be Castrophic to say the least. However, Remember the first few days? There were 3 leaks. Why are they only talking about a 22 inch leaking pipe 74 days later. What's going on with the other 2 leaks? Way too much damage has been done already. I really hope I'm wrong. There's an awful lot of oil out there. It seems impossible that this much oil can be leaking from one location. I tried several times to give the website address so you all can read this report. Yahoo is censoring the truth and letting everything else get posted. Google scientists warn gulf of mexico sea flloor fractured beyond repair and judge for yourself. Who knows what the truth really is at this point except for the fact this a crime of unimaginable consequencs to every last living thing on this Planet. Why hasn't this DISASTER been the Governments number one priority 73 days ago? WE NEEDED ALL HANDS ON DECK A LONG TIME AGO! It's a horrible thought. But here it goes any way. The Human Race might very well be into it's 74th day of a War for it's right to live.

I just received a phone call 2 minutes ago from a childhood friend of mine who happens to be a Marine Biologist. He has been working with other scientists almost from the beginning of this disaster. I can't name him yet but he advised me that some of his colleages will be coming clean on information in the coming days. I asked if the report from the Russian scientists were true. He paused for a few seconds and confirmed the story. He actually knows this scientist personally and has worked with him in the past. Whether you believe this or not it's up to you. I have nothing to gain and my friend has everything to lose by confiding in me. He has already moved his family out of the Gulf region and advised me to do the same. Good luck to all of you. Listen to the scientists. They are the only ones telling the truth.

then saw this-

A News of Interest for all.As an Engineer discussing with a Retired Oil Well Engineer:
• Step 1. BP with all its cutting edge instrumentation and search experience of 80 years found a massive mind boggling huge oil lake under the sea bed of Gulf of Mexico
• Step 2. In order to put its finger in the cream rather fast, it ignored normal “Technical Manners” and provided weak and faulty Blow Out Preventor (BOP). BP’s Rig Contractor vouched and proved to Congress Hearing Committee that Blow Out Preventor pictures under sea are different than their Drawings. And wrongly placed in hurry inspite of Warnings by to BP by Supervisors..
• Step 3. Both BP and Government Geologists know that it’s an enormous lake of oil they have found. Only BP’s greed and hurry blew up the gold mine in to a disaster.
• Step 4. In spite of pressure by media and by independent scientists BP is not coming out with the quantity in the reservoir they have hit. They expect to plug 100,000 barrels/day spilling by August. Also brought a "Skimmer Ship" white elephant in the circus to calm the uproar. By then 60m barrels of oil will be mixed in the Gulf. Cap was another gimmick to digress public attention
• Step 5. Destruction of fish, pelicans, and destruction beaches is a small price for Obama to pay, who is looking for Oil and Alternate energy.
• Step 6. $20B from BP is peanut to calm the yelling kids…BP will be happy paying $500B in claims because the reservoir has billions and billions of tons of oil to last 50 years… Advisory: Nation has to get some pelicans and fish sacrificed…and dirty its hands at blackened beaches for a once in life time Oil wind-fall. Americans…have patience….its a small sacrifice to kick out the Arabs and their oil.

This mammoth fiasco has officially reached the Texas Gulf Coast, on the beaches of Galveston Island, about 20 minutes where I grew up. It's pretty sickening.
BP will somehow reap what they sow.

Yeah, I saw an e-mail going around that contained most of this "information."

The e-mail said that the information was made public in Russia, but that journalists were not allowed to broadcast that info outside of Russia.
WTF, as if anything made publicly available in Russia can't be seen anywhere else?
I thought about posting that e-mail here, but it seemed like so much bullshit that I didn't want to embarrass myself with it.
I wish I had saved that e-mail now.

And this thing about a sinking rig causing an irreparable crack in the ocean floor, one mile deep and seven miles away?

I ain't buying it until we get something more than rumors and hearsay. piss off

One thing is certain, they can't close the main leak because the pressure behind it is so powerful and when they tried to contain it, they found oil is coming from other leaks stronger... this means this is way worse than they are telling us, and that we've not only been lied to, that real scientific information is being withheld.
