i wake up everyday, sick to my stomach over this catastrophe... i get the same sad feeling seeing this, as i do seeing holocaust images or when the wtc was attacked... Obama should be holding a magaphone screaming we're going to get those who did this, and then we should shut down Cheveron!!! People seem so lost... no one is driving less or talking about energy alternatives...  I bet right now, people are trying to figure out how to salvage the oil leaked out and refine it and sell it... there's no solution oriented discussions... just talk of ineefective federal govt??? when were they ever effective to begin with?

we'll cap it, clean it and then it will be Summer of Stones oh Ten again!

with these folks on all Cable networks showing these

by the govt.  This is all fact, this has happened.
It's all there for the eyes to see.
This is what James Carville, Obama's leading cheerleader
before this happened has also said.
This is not some fiction story.

I'm going away now, as there really is no furthering this
topic with you.
Good luck.

allo ver the news, like how they covered the benefit concert, you wanted but didn't know about... from the getgo, i said... no one knows what to do, and everyone is gooing to be retro-experts as we learn what is actually happening...
bottom line is, our oil consumption and desire for cheap oil, came squarely into conflict with the oil industries greed and haste at getting to the oil... the billions they make monthly, and they weren't prepared for something like this... think about how much oil has hit the coast, and how long it has been coming out... and when it came ashore...  i understand you're worried about fishing jobs and some beaches... these areas are going to be gone, and the fish may never return  for generations... not only do i think your focus is in the wrong place, i don't think you really understand how bad this is... what's sad, is your gripe is that the president isn't micro managing the consequences of the worst thing to ever happen to this planet in modern human history.

Look, I am not personally attacking you, you need to get past that.
I do not care who you side with politically, you need to get past that as well.
I am watching ABC right now, who was the 1st network in the White House,
who serves Obama up on a silver platter each & every-time.
The lead headline is how 69% are against the President.
I am only reporting what the country is saying.
You choose not to believe it, well that's your choice.
I choose to look at five or more news broadcasts to determine if there is a bias.
So far, it's all the same-validating what the officials on the scene are saying.
Obama is not doing enough.why we are here.

On alternative energy-great idea.
Only problem is The Dems are against it.
A wind farm off of Mass has been blocked for years by Kennedy & Kerry.
Last time I looked, they were both Dems.
In addition, both parties will never do what you want-shut down the oil companies.
They both receive too much funding.  Obama received more money from
BP than any other oil company.
The country needs to deal with these firms smarter, that's all.

You have an alternative to oil, which will run each vehicle in this country,
fire our electric grid?  You will be a gazillionaire, never having to squabble
on a internet board again.  Call your Senator or Congressman today & tell
them!

Frankly speaking, and given your replies, you will not like to hear
this, however, you really need to have the sunshine of reality wake you up.
I will apologize to you for saying this, however, I will tell you that I say the
same thing to clients who want everything & want to pay nothing for it.

I do not care who would be in charge, if the reaction from govt was anything
similar to what Obama is doing, the outcry would be as large.
The fact is Obama is President, it's on his watch, he's doing little or nothing to bring this
matter to a halt.  Until such time he turns this around, his entire presidency
is in peril.

In fact, if it was Bush, the outcry would be five times as loud.

In some cases there's definitely a lack of urgency... but for most of this, regarding the leak and the oil moving and washing up, it's so big and the magnitude is so large, people are frozen like deers in the headlights... we're pissing on a forrest fire... the complaints are we ain't pissing enough... yea, sure... it's so big, so bad... we're really just pissing on ourselves...

Sorry I didnt read every post on this thread but I think the main reason people arent doing anything to help out is because we are expecting BP to clean up everything and pay for it all! Yeah right! They will be bankrupt by then and we will end up cleaning up the mess ourselves eventually. I feel so bad, living on the coast, if this ever comes up the east coast all the real estate values will go down the toilet bowl, as I am sure this is happening already in the gulf states. Waterfront properties always have the highest values, but now these values will go down to zero. Thats a damn shame since the real estate market was just coming up from an all time low! This just made it worse and it will continue to destroy values all along the water. Anyone who lives on the water that may become contaminated, you better sell and get out now while you still can! Head for the mountains, thats what I'm thinking.

This thread needs a theme song:
Will all your money
Buy you forgiveness
Keep you from sickness
Or keep you from cold?

Will all your money
Keep you from madness
Keep you from sadness
When you're down in the hole?

'cause you'll be down in the gutter
You'll be bummin' for cigarettes
Bummin' for nylons
In the american zone

You'll be down in the hole
Yeah, down in the hole
No escape from trouble
Nowhere to go

Down in the gutter
Beggin' for cigarettes
Beggin' forgiveness
All that you know

Down in the hole
After diggin' the trenches
Looking for cover and findin' out there ain't nowhere nowhere to go
Nowhere nowhere nowhere to go

None of your money
Will buy you forgiveness
None of your jewelry
None of your gold

Your black market cigarettes
Your american nightclubs
Ah, they've got nowhere left

Something for nothing
All of your friends gone
Something for nothing
That's all that you know

There's something down in the hole
Down down down in the hole
There's something down down down down in the hole

This is oil industry's Chernobyl.  The repercussions from the spill will be with us for generations to come.

This thread needs a theme song:
Will all your money
Buy you forgiveness
Keep you from sickness
Or keep you from cold?

Will all your money
Keep you from madness
Keep you from sadness
When you're down in the hole?

'cause you'll be down in the gutter
You'll be bummin' for cigarettes
Bummin' for nylons
In the american zone

You'll be down in the hole
Yeah, down in the hole
No escape from trouble
Nowhere to go

Down in the gutter
Beggin' for cigarettes
Beggin' forgiveness
All that you know

Down in the hole
After diggin' the trenches
Looking for cover and findin' out there ain't nowhere nowhere to go
Nowhere nowhere nowhere to go

None of your money
Will buy you forgiveness
None of your jewelry
None of your gold

Your black market cigarettes
Your american nightclubs
Ah, they've got nowhere left

Something for nothing
All of your friends gone
Something for nothing
That's all that you know

There's something down in the hole
Down down down in the hole
There's something down down down down in the hole

I just love the song, figured it was as good a place to post as any.
