Right on.  Just as our ranting & raving about Macca, or Springsteen, or Peter Wolf has nothing
to do with the Stones as well.   Or the contstant pummeling of Ron Wood, like anything we say
is ever going to change how he acts, or that what we say is even right?  Or do other people care
about the NFL, MLB, NBA, etc?  It's a message board, some people are passionate about everthing.
It's a very small world SCL, with lots of items impacting it.  Do you think I enjoyed when I paid
good money to hear the Boss pontificate about Bush, when much of it was not true?  Or that I
should vote for Obama?  Shut Up & Sing is my mantra.  I told Kris Kristopherson off one night
in an Austin club over his blabbering about Bush being wrong & had most in the club cheering me for it.

As long as there are discourse allowed over
world items, I see no reason to not talk about
events which effect all of us. Some of the posters
here will be financially impacted by what happens
in the Gulf, people are concerned.

Last I checked it's a free society.
So, if the admins want to limit this to
music only discussions, I would completely
understand & abide.

Thank you.

so in your books obama is handling this crisis admirably?

No. Not by a long shot.
However, it's very out of character for him, IMO.
Not quite ready to vote him out of office, or impeach just yet.

I didn't watch the Matthews vid.

Yeah it's so out of character! LOL! I mean he did such a bang up job on forcing a health care pakage down the throats of an unwilling, and non-consensual public. He has completely ignored the will of those same people with his heavy (ham) handed approach to the illegal immigration problem, while at the same time slamming the state of Arizona which has the highest kidnapping rate in the US because of a border problem that Obummer would rather forget about.

He's doing a brilliant job! Of destroying his party, and the USA that is!

He's a bad joke, and the sad thing is that some here still haven't figured out the punch line. Some of us knew it all along.

3 out of 3! Foul up, screw up, fuck up!

He's the best president ever!

ROTFLMMFAO!!

Riffy

go post on a political forum... this is about the oil leak, at least stay on topic or start a new politics thread...

Pdog, with all due respect, funman makes the claim that it's out character for Obummer to drop the ball in a crisis situation. I just made the obvious point that not only is it not out of character for Obummer to screw up on a massive scale, but that it has been his MO for the last 18 months. That you don't like that fact is of zero consequences to me. As I mentioned in an earlier post, there is no way to take the politics out of this disaster. If for no other reason than because Barry has always inserted politics into every single action that he has ever undertaken. I just respond to the posts that I read, nothing more.

Riffy

You're talking about healthcare and AZ politcs... you're not even on topic, and you're the one who started a poltical discusiion here.
and don't tell  me you respond accordingly.. .you went all foul, when no one else was... screw respect for me, respect this board, if you want poltics, go there, in a poltical thread... this was about the spill, not Obama... Ginda even asked for a political site... do you post on any, or just trying to make this place one... start a political thread... beleive it or ont, people are interested in the events and news about the leak, and not the poltics around it...

If you wanna keep this thread open, guys, keep it on topic and non-personal.

Dont even think about it being a sneaky way of resurrecting unfinished business in the old 'Obama' thread.

If its going to follow the path of the last one, it'll be closed.

As opposed to forcing a war package down the throats of an unwilling, and nonconsensual public....?
Since when do conservatives care about the environment anyway? That's the real question.

Every Magic tour date I saw & every Magic tour
date which was performed.  Sure, I went for more shows,
and I yelled at him from the front row @ Hautfud to shut up & sing.
As long as the oil problem remains in the Gulf
there should be those of us to stand up & ask why
BP is allowed to not be made to do more & more.

I whole heartedly agree that BP should be held accountable every step of the way. Thatwas the original point of this thread....Obama didn't drill the hole. Obama didn't make the fucker leak. As for the cleanup. Doesn't  matter who is in office. It's a clusterfuck of epic proportions.

You are correct Obama did not make the hole, nor did he cause it.
He is the President, the man in charge.  He is responsible for
what happens during his watch.  He has not done enough.
He needs to do more & fast.  The perception is he is not acting
fast or strong enough.  He still has time to turn that perception
around, for the good of all of the Gulf States, and for that matter
the world.  This accident did occur on US Federal Waters, which
is ultimately his responsibility as President.

not far from the truth. the way this works the country pays alot of money to find the oil, watchover the obtaining and shipping, the refinnig and distribution and then the cost of clean ups and health problems from using it... the people who run these industries have it made... BP just made a ton of money and is now set to file bankruptcy, but the top people walk away free and clear and rich as hell... who do you think is getting the bill? might as well make it nationalized, since it operates like this...  what other industry requires so much miltary money just to keep it working? That bill alone is immense...

I think he is sunig the phrase nationalized, to compare it to National Healthcare, in englad... a govt. run program... what we have here, is a subsidized industry, like automakers, with many hidden and secondary costs... making it more complex and more of a drain on our money. you pay to find the oil, you pay to have it shipped and protected around the world, you pay for accidents and clean ups and you pay to pump the gas... you don't pay $3 a gal. you pay more like $10 or $20...
