There appears to be agreement that the private sector response is inadequate and that only government can solve the problem. The issue now is whether Rand Paul is right that Barack is too hard on Big Oil or whether Sarah Palin is right that Big Oil owns Barack. Oh yeah, perhaps they're both wrong (and bat-shit crazy to boot).
Spoken just like a "True Believer", BJ. You're probabaly right. The government should just run everything, and then we can live happily ever after. I mean everything that the federal government touches turns out great, right?

Eric Hoffer had your type pegged years ago. Ever read him?
It was William F. Buckley who famously said-
“I'd rather entrust the government of the United States to the first 400 people listed in the Boston telephone directory than to the faculty of Harvard University.”
Obummer is the ultimate Harvard leftwing arrogant ideological snobbish faculty member. He's screwing the pooch bigtime. It's best just to admit it and move on.
Meanwhile, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is still waiting for the Obummer Admin. to do it's job. Barack's response? I gusss we'll know when spokesidiot Robert Gibbs tells us what it is!
"As thick oil flows into the sensitive marshes of the Louisiana coast, Gov. Bobby Jindal called on the White House and BP today to either stop the oil spill or get out of his way.
Gov. Bobby Jindal warns BP and the White House to help or get out of his way.Jindal is still waiting for the federal government to provide millions of feet in boom and to approve an emergency permit for a state plan to dredge and build new barrier islands to keep the oil from reaching the marshes and wetlands.
Jindal is so desperate for the islands, he's said he'll build them even if it sends him to jail.
"We've been frustrated with the disjointed effort to date that has too often meant too little, too late for the oil hitting our coast," Jindal said."

Time to snap out of it, folks! You were duped. He's an ideological moron. He's an intellectual cul-de-sac, blinded by his radical views, and years of leftist propoganda. Truth hurts, I know, but there it is.
Riffy
The strawman cometh. I have never suggested that government can perform all tasks; though there are some tasks to which it is best suited (military defense, policing, firefighting, road building, education, health insurance, etc.). What I pointed out was the irony of you "government is the problem" Raygunauts bitching because Barack wasn't taking over from BP fast enough.
As for your all-too-familiar screed against the President, let's just say that the shit doesn't fall far from the bat. Informed commentators already place Barack among the most consequential Presidents such as FDR, LBJ and (yes) Ronald Reagan. You may not like it, Riffy, and inside your reactionary information cocoon it may even seem absurd; but out here in the real world, Barack Obama is well on his way to a big place in history--for the good.
You like playing the prediction game (despite your utter lack of success at it), so here's a few of mine: 1) Democrats will recapture the House seat in Hawaii in November; 2) Harry Reid wins re-election; 3) Scott Brown loses in the Republican primary in 2012 to a Douche Bagger (excuse me, Douche
Partier); 4) Dems retain control of both Houses of Congress in November.
