This Super Bowl is what is great about football.  Two small market teams, two iconic teams, playing for the championship.  Both teams have a huge fan base and make money.  Just try getting a season ticket for either of these teams.  You will wait about 20 years.

Now you see why a lockout is necessary  Oh no! not you again.

See yinz after the game or tomorrow after I post bail.

I'll give the Packers some credit for winning the game.  I'll give most of the credit to the Steelers for making sure the Packers won the game.  If it was a beatdown like the ones the Patriots handed to us, I would ok with it.  I'm not going to say what a great season it was, becuase only one team had a great season.  We came in second (who cares), and get a lousy draft pick.

Or did they get beat. They did not lose, they got beat, there is a difference is'nt that the case, The Steeler got nothing IMO to be ashamed of! Am I wrong. What did I miss?

i think it is generally assumed that if you give the ball away three times, and your opponents score 21 points off your turnovers, that your team gave it away.

Nothing to discuss.  You nailed it all right there.  As I posted on Facebook eariler today, Black Eyed Peas is definitely a cheese head band, and an armpit shaving male metrosexual band.  The Steelers had no chance.

I give credit to the Steelers for coming back and making a game out of it. But this could have been worse. If the Packers would have not dropped 10 balls,it could have been a blowout. Mendenhall fumble was HUGE. Personal foul on kickoff on Steelers last possesion hurt. Don't know why the Steelers didn't challenge deep more in the second half when woodson was hurt. But after all was said and done,due to some creative betting strategy on my part. I managed to break out even and even hit a square on one of my pools. RIP NFL if their is a lockout.

Medenhall was running the ball quite effectively in the second half until the fumble.  However, that would have been a perfect time to go deep.

My thoughts (some maybe arrogant) as a Steeler fan the day after.  Mike McCarthy outcoached Dick LeBeau.  The Steelers blitz was picked up and exploited.  The only time the Steelers got close to Rodgers is when they dropped back in coverage.  I'm suprised they did not drop back more.  Doug Legursky ate B.J. Raji's lunch.  Raji was a non-factor.

This is where I maybe arrogant.  The Packers could never put the Steelers away.  I felt the Steelers would come back and win.  When the Steelers got the ball back with 2 minutes left, I felt it it was going to happen.  It was not meant to be, not yesterday.  Roethlisberger was not on his A game.  Also, Santonio Holmes was missed greatly yesterday.

This maybe it for a while.  The Steelers are not getting any younger.

Yeah,your right about Legursky. With 2 weeks of practice,he played a lot better. Raji was a non-factor. The Pack couldn't put the Steelers away. But big Ben missed on a sure TD and also made some bad decisions holding the ball too long. I think he could have ran with it a little more. Wallace never could get open deep. Oh well Rob. The Yinzers still have 6.

Posting the first RO post ever from 37,000 feet.  Yet another one of my incredible, seemingly endless, magnificent contributions to the art of Stones board posting.  And I haven't even tampered with the lavatory smoke detector yet.

Disappointing performance by the Steelers.  Certainly did not rise to the occasion to be champs.  All kinds of mistakes.  What I did like about them, and will ALWAYS like about the Steelers, is they never quit on the game, and made it close while continuing to play mediocre.  They showed heart, just a strange lack of brains.

Packers deserved it, though.  They are undisputed NFL champs.  Their year for sure.  I'd like to piss in their fon du pots, and stuff fucking shredded Velveeta in their socks.  Goddamit.

=================
BTW, who the fuck is the Black Eyed Pee?  Jesus fucking Christ, that was some lame ass music.  Manilow, in his prime, take those jingle writers head to head.  Goddamit.

Ok after a day of reflection let me comment on the Steelers season. The bowl was a microcosem of the season really. Legursky stepped up big as so many before him had. However costly penalties and turnovers at key times doomed them. Every game when Ben faced a true top notch QB (Brady,Brees,Rodgers) he was outplayed. Their luck ran out on Sunday as really they should not have been the 2nd seed. They should have lost in Miami and to Buffalo and were lucky to escape Atlanta week one. A cheap holding call on a punt return for a TD on Baltimore in playoffs set up the chance to make the miraculous throw to Brown late to win that one. I doubt we could have won in Baltimore or New York. Our luck continued when Jets ousted Pats who we would not have beat in NE.The secondary which was patched with McFadden was exposed again because of poor cover corners and an obviously less then 100% Polamalu. How many years will Steelers allow special teams to kill them? Packers outplayed and out coached them and were worthy of the win. If Rodgers receivers had caught half the drops the game was a bigger blow out. So the best team won and our magic ride is over. We are older and I think may be a few years away from challenging again so this loss is tougher to swallow when we were that close. Drafting in the hated 31 spot only compounds matters. Oh well now time to move on to my Washington Nats.....ain't life great?
