Until this season, it has never been the style of Jamie Dixon to run the score up on anbody. The last two games, however do not fit into that mold. It could be because the bench is just as talented as the starters. There is no standout player on the team. Just solid teamwork.
The Terps should be ok. Pitt does have one major and somewhat unfair advantage on everybody so far in this early season. They played their 15th game today, and have been practicing since August. The NCAA gave them permission to do so becuase they toured Ireland. They played ten games in Ireland, even playing in Gazza's town!
You know, I'm glad this game is in November and not March (or even December). I don't get too emotionally involved in college hoops until conference play. Lately, MD has had some pitiful losses early (American U, nearly losing to College of Charleston), and some good victories over top teams (Mich St the year they made it to the final vs. UNC). Moreso than almost any other sport or league, NCAABB teams morph from this time to March. If MD can keep it within single digits, I'll be very happy. And I'll return to root for Pitt to destroy some of those punks in the BE (suck it, Georgetown).
