I walked into work today and that beauty was waiting for me in my mailbox! It's got two takes on it. Track one is the radio mix, and track two is the album cut. Plus the card included in the CD case has the photo with Bill deleted on one side, and the other side has track and contact info (as seen in the photo included by Urban Steel). A great get, and I am so happy that I have a program director that knows I'm a Stones' fanatic and was cool enough to get me a copy.

So did you play it on the radio yet Riffy? Pierre Robert played it on WMMR today around noon. It was cool to hear it getting air time!

I sure did! I played it and backed it up with Tumbling Dice! It was great to hear New Exile and Old Exile back to back. I must say that PMS is certainly in keeping with the general feel and vibe of Exile, and it really does go nicely with the rest of the original tracks. Sure, Mick's vocals are new, but I tell you what, once the song gets going it sounds brilliantly sloppy. I really dig the chorus, and I find myself shouting right along with Mick! Much to my daughters' chagrin. LOL!

is it on eBay yet, i'm sure some non-fan types are trying to fleece folks. Hopefully a few of us get lucky, and find this 2nd hand at some shops, that's how I got my Forty Licks new songs only CD. It wasn't even expensive at Amoeba, but I had seen it on eBay for $75. For those who got copies, enjoy them.. They probably only pressed a few thousand at most, and in the digital age, they are more valued than Mp3's...

.....DAY 4.....

Monday turned out to be a real problem.
The video kept swirling through my head - an amazing tapestry of images that hypnotizes as that song imbeds in the frontal Stonesian lobe.

I left work at 1:27, hopped in the nankymobile and headed to a fabric store.
I purchased a bolt of blue suede and some off-white bunting, snatched the bag from the check-out lady and headed home.  After several minutes of digging in my closet, I found my old Bedazzler rhinestone system and started working on my jumpsuit.

That thing looks so easy on TV, but let me tell ya...not so much.
Suede crumples so easily when you start punching it up with rhinestones, and I just couldn't get the fit right up front.
Anyway, I had a couple shots of Wild Turkey to calm down a bit, went outside and had a lil' pick me up!  Could not get that damn video and song out of my mind.  Sorta has that Tumblin' Dice grind to it, yet it sounds so fresh.

Gave up on the jumpsuit for the day, had a few beers and listened to Exile front to back.
Dug out my old beat up vinyl copy and read through all the liner notes as it played - Amyl Nitrate on Marimbas - reminded me of Robert Greenfield's Journey Through America.  What a great book.  So I pulled that out to get that whole feel of the '72 tour -- that "wheels coming off" kinda feeling, y'know?

Had a bottle of dry red wine as I read the first few chapters.
The tour joke of popping "Amys" on people!
What a riot - I wanted to try.
I grabbed a bottle of Vicks vapor rub and took a deep breath....the sweet sounds of Plundered danced in my head!....

When I came to, I was on the bathroom floor, a large welt on the right side of my head, and the lyrics of Plundered smeared on the mirror in Vicks.
I got some ice for my head, but it didn't help, so I poured the ice in a glass and had some Jameson's on the rocks.

By about 10pm, I was feeling a bit woozy and laid down.
Iwoke up this morning, not feeling so well.
Decided to take the day off.
That DAMN song just keeps beating in my head - maybe that's the welt....
