Once a month a take a twenty dollar bill and got to my local used record store. They sell old records for $.99 a piece so I buy 20 records of bands I've never heard of before. Honestly, most of it ends up being rubbish, but I get really excited when I find something good. This month I stumbled upon a real gem, though: A band called the flamin' groovies. I picked up a couple of their records simply because I was intrigued by their name and one of the records included a cover of "she said yeah."

They are absolutely awesome! Their rhythm section sounds just like 60's Stones. Really digging their "teenage Head" album. Looking around on the internet it looks like they're still active. Anybody else a fan?

Holden, you're starting to find from real gems from the past, I remember a band called The James Gang from around '71 that were really popular, Grand Funk Railroad who became Grand Funk, were really big in '69/70, a lot of bands most people today never heard of, there was Teegarden & Vanwinkle just to remember a name I never heard of since, how about Cat Mother & the All Night Newsboys?
