i never said i was offended. you're making an argument based on conjecture or perhaps your own personal feelings and assuming I must feel this way too... i'm saying, there's no difference between what riffy is doing or someone bashing religion, both are either equally offensive or IMO, equally moot... making fun of religous myths is and using an anti-war message in opposition to anti-war liberals, is the same from my POV... Rock is my religion, it is when I say it is, that's what faith and beleifs are, not being some conformist, that has to do what everyone else is doing... it's been part of my spiritual life since I was very young. If someone says something that offends me - either a personal attack against me or an attack against my beliefs or substitutes opinion for fact, then I may respond just like anyone else. Whether you think that is provoked or unprovoked is a matter of opinion. I am not saying I have never been uncivil here -- I have at times, and I have apologized.

And while I generally agree with Riffy's political leanings, that doesn't mean I agree 100% with everything he says, nor does it mean I agree with the way he says them at times. But I am not a moderator and I do not feel the need to tell someone else how to act here. If he or you or anyone else gets out of line, the moderators have demonstrated their willingness to lock threads.

The moderators do enough, how often do they lock threads?, how often have they asked us to cill out? Asking us to chill, as they did, and even Riffy agreed, should've been enough.
You make a good point... I think the Stones tongue, is a horrible reprenstation of what the song represents, and ironically, the lyrics are what many might call vulgar... I got shit for saying "eat my fuck"... gimme shelter is about, war, rape, murder and drug use... so what is considered offensive is completely subjective. I use the term, desecration, to describe the logo and words... and then I get ridiculed b/c i say rock n' roll is my religion. now that, is more offensive... but did i lash out, no... it seems to many here are quick to lash out, when they find some kinda faux offense on them, when in truth, they like you, ignore it when it is done to others.... me like you, we all have our moments... so who is going to step up, and end the political shit... when you think about it, what we are doing right now, should be as bad as a disagreemnt here gets... why not... otherwise, the moderators have to shiut down all kinds of shit b/c people act like assholes over every precieved slight and what they deem is offensive. Oh for fucks sake! Enough already! I jokingly posted a photo of a shirt that I purchased. I thought it was pretty funny, plus it had the added attraction of having some actual Stones' content. It was very tongue in cheek (no pun intended), and to anyone that had a brain that was obvious. I immediately was set upon by some jerk that I don't even know. This leonid prick has apparently been cyber stalking quite a few of our former regulars here for months now. He has managed to troll other boards that some of the greatest former RO'ers like to post on, and then he has come back here and tried to act all coy with this information. As if anyone gives two flying fucks what he says. Hey, leonid, here's a clue-you are laughed at routinely and you don't even know it.

It's very obvious that what Pdog is trying to get others to denounce me as a poster because I have zero problem telling people to go fuck themselves. I have watched as some of the best posters this site has ever seen disappear because they did not want to take the crap from a select band of posters that constantly harassed them because of their political views. Now these former posters are strong enough to come back here and destroy these intellectual lightweights with sound arguments, but they chose to leave instead. It's the board's loss.

I didn't see Pdog denouncing the constant non-stop harassment of them. Did you? I haven't seen Pdog denounce the constant put down of religion, and of people's personal faith by the friends on his side. Did you? I didn't see anyone on that side denounce all of the lies told about Feej. Did any of you? I didn't see any denunciation of the constant Bush Geeks horseshit. Did you?

It's almost as if the only people that Pdog wants denounced are those that he disagrees with. Which is quite funny considering that that is exactly what he is accusing Nanky of doing.

It's obvious to me that politics can no longer be discussed in a civil manner on this board. If they ever have been? I am as guilty as anyone for that. I take full responsibility for it. Hell, I would even admit to being worse than many in that regard. What can I say? I refuse to take shit from anyone, period! I'm certainly no worse than many though. I'm outnumbered so I tend to use a larger caliber retort. However, I don't want to appear as a person that can't put politics aside for the betterment of the board. So I will no longer discuss the subject on this board period.

It matters not to me. As I said in a post last week. Real life events on the ground are proving that I was right all along Barry anyway. So for my parting, and final, shot-Barack Obama is the single most dangerous, and least qualified president in world history, and he is going to fuck this nation up for years to come, and only like minded far leftists, and brain dead tools can't see that FACT.

Now these former posters are strong enough to come back here and destroy these intellectual lightweights with sound arguments, but they chose to leave instead. It's the board's loss.

I didn't see Pdog denouncing the constant non-stop harassment of them. Did you? I haven't seen Pdog denounce the constant put down of religion, and of people's personal faith by the friends on his side. Did you? I didn't see anyone on that side denounce all of the lies told about Feej. Did any of you? I didn't see any denunciation of the constant Bush Geeks horseshit. Did you?

It's almost as if the only people that Pdog wants denounced are those that he disagrees with. Which is quite funny considering that that is exactly what he is accusing Nanky of doing.

It's obvious to me that politics can no longer be discussed in a civil manner on this board. If they ever have been? I am as guilty as anyone for that. I take full responsibility for it. Hell, I would even admit to being worse than many in that regard. What can I say? I refuse to take shit from anyone, period! I'm certainly no worse than many though. I'm outnumbered so I tend to use a larger caliber retort. However, I don't want to appear as a person that can't put politics aside for the betterment of the board. So I will no longer discuss the subject on this board period.

It matters not to me. As I said in a post last week. Real life events on the ground are proving that I was right all along Barry anyway. So for my parting, and final, shot-Barack Obama is the single most dangerous, and least qualified president in world history, and he is going to fuck this nation up for years to come, and only like minded far leftists, and brain dead tools can't see that FACT.

Denounce that, while you act like only people you agree with left or that I somehow didn't defend certain people or whatever your alleging in your delusional authoritarian personality disorder. Leonid is stalking you and others on other boards... are you for real. JC is flebit. Paranoid is one thing, add it with your foul mouth and finger pointing, trolling ect... i hope you do post about some Stones regualrly, b/c politcs doesn't suit you.
