I agree with Pdog, first listen on Plundered My Soul sounds like that's vocal overdub by Sir Mick.

Undoubtedly, and overdubs by subject Mick as well.

Sounds as I expected. Polished. New.
The undubbed songs should be excellent quality.

Clearly an overdub, but I like it.

Mick Taylor's part might be new, too. Sounds unusually sharp, up front in the mix...

At least Taylor might make a few bucks out of this thing.  Fix up that old jalopy in his yard. Wow!

Yeah. That's Mick "now" on there. I agree the vox are a bit clean and out in the open versus being buried in the mix as could be Jimmy Miller's style at times (Exile, GHS, Sticky Fingers some what).

My guess is they tried burying it and it sounded untrue or kinda lame with how Jagger sings now compared to back when. Why is this my guess? Well it is certainly no secret that is how Miller produced some of The Stones albums including this one. As well they said they concentrated on trying to make the little work they did with the old tracks work yet they said they "tried" to keep it as close to the original Exile sound as possible.

Again, my guess burying Micks Vox with how he sings and/or how his voice is now may of sounded phony or just plain too un-authentic so they HAD to go with this approach of having Exile stuffwith a new twist to it.

Now the question is ....DOES it work??? As for me ....I am not sure? At times when I play this it just sounds like new Jagger (possibly new guitar as well) with a few old Exile tracks underneath and it doesn't fit together properly.

Other times I find myself saying .... hmmm  newer twist on old Exile takes ,,,hmmm kinda interesting. Maybe it'll make sense when we hear all ten tracks and right now we just can't grasp the new twist>?

Still confused .... Ian

the main riff sounds like the backstage jam in cocksucker blues w/the stevie wonder band right before film cuts to the satisfaction/uptight encore, can't believe keith didn't reuse that lick already
