Very disappointing second half for the Nats, I think -- especially in light of what the Astros and O's are doing. No Strasburg next year. Quite probably no Dunn. Pitchers Zimmerman, Detweiler, Maya show hints of quality, but nothing that instills a ton of confidence. The aging Livan Hernandez is the best guy in the rotation. None of this bodes well for next season.

If the Rays can shore up their rotation, they're going to be a handful. Yanks aren't going to have it as easy as they did last year.

As for the Phils -- to be down 7 games two months ago, now to be up by almost that many. Out of all the good things that have happened to the team since '07, this may be the sweetest, second only to the Series.
