I don't think a new ballpark will make much of a difference. A big excuse people give is the location of the Trop and that it's too hard to get to St. Pete from Tampa. I agree that we might be losing a few people coming from Orlando with the ball park being in St. Pete, but the drive from Tampa to St. Pete is nothing. I have no doubt it's easier to get to then ballparks in many other cities. It's just a lame excuse. Also, the Tampa bay area has so many transplants that won't give up their allegiances to the teams where they originally come from. They might have moved to the area when they were five years old and thirty years later it’s still “Go Yankees!” They wouldn’t move back to New York for anything, but that’s their “home team”. Then they start brainwashing their kids young, buying them the NY gear and cycle continues. It’s the same for Boston, Chicago or where ever. I don’t know if people will ever come to the park down here, no matter where it’s located or how state of the art it is. It’s sad and embarrassing. But damn we got a good team!
