Maybe I would have a different opinion if they all dropped dead sometime in the 1980's but I have had a hard time sitting thru just about anything I have seen with them since.
That said, I am not a big movie watcher. The Golden Age of Hollywood ended sometime around 1986 and I have hardly bothered since.
I know how you feel. I've been to the cinema exactly four times in the last 8-9 years or so...
Kill Bill Vol 1, Kill Bill Vol 2, Gangs of New York, Shine A Light - two Tarantino, two Scorsese.
Rarely even bother watching movies on TV anymore. Newer ones anyway.
Same here! Seen a few revivals (Town That Dreaded Sundown, Rolling Thunder, Gimme Shelter, Shine A Light) and new releases, South Park (over 10 years ago), Shine A Light first run, Team America, Breach and Friday The 13th remake - an insignificant yet fun film that harkens back to a much simpler time.
Often indie films always that look interesting but would take a bit of effort to get to where they are playing so I don't bother.
