He was very very talented and avant-garde.   Fucking shame to go out at 40 by your own hand.

He'd never strike me as a person who'd take his own life. Really sad.

How sad that he couldn't see his way out of his despair. He was an enfant terrible of the fashion world. You wouldn't know many people willing to wear his designs straight from the runway, but he had a big influence on some of the details you would see later in more mass produced lines.

I don't like him either, platter, and I'm a woman. I find fashion mostly a waste of time that gets thrusted upon you every season. I always found stuff designed by Mc Queen gratuitously exhibitionistic ,shock-provoking and somehow puerile. He's the fashion equivalent to Damien Hirst, who I really wish would turn up floating face down in one of his formaline tanks next to his stuffed shark. All noise and no substance. Certainly not "art" to me!

Having said all that,  I hope Mc Queen rests in peace and is finally free of his personal demons .

Well, I definitely think of it as "art" more than I do of any kind of fashion that I could actually wear! But it's pretty interesting looking....sad that he felt that he couldn't go on...Sad

Never heard of him until i read about it in the paper. Means nothing to me as i am more a purveyor of "classical summer wear".
IE: t-shirts and shorts and mini skirts.

And i like them on women too!
