Well the last words we shared before her surgery were Its in Gods hands now and it appears God wants to take her home. So her time is almost up here on earth. There is a universal truth we all have to face whether we want to or not ~ everything has an ending, we all come to an end, endings are inevitable, we close the book, we say good-bye, we say it with sadness but Mary is moving on. Just because she is leaving and it hurts, there are some people who becoome a part of us, and will always be with us.

The last time I saw you dear Mary, we were standing outside of Lombardi's in NYC. SV and I wanted you to join us for lunch but you were just too tired and we'd only walked one block. That was nearly three years ago. I remember holding your face in my hands as the sun shone down upon you. Although your eyes were tired, your smile was warm and bright. Never did I imagine that would be the last time I'd see you. We had so many plans for your homecoming celebration and The Stones next Tour which you had no doubt would occur. Another time my dear; another place. May your journey home be peaceful. May you finally be free of the pain and suffering you so bravely endured. I will miss you terribly my Stones Sister and my heart will never be quite the same without you in my life.

And I must thank you, as well as Gazza, for being so diligent in keeping us up to date with Mary's situation and her needs. I know we did all we could on this end {sending cards, good wishes, encouragement, and especially prayers}, but I know we all must still feel pretty helpless. I know that God never makes mistakes, and that this is all a part of His plan for Mary, but humanly speaking, it is, and will be, very hard on those who are left behind on this earth... Sad

so... havent been here in awhile, mostly keeping up with this on FB...

seen this thread what seems like a million years ago and sent ms. mary a personal msg... i have hep c too... she was so happy to talk to someone who knew how she felt, she told me she felt like a leper when she first found out ... the stigma of having hepc is difficult... but i told her fuck it Mare those that mind dont matter and those that matter dont mind... my last msg with her was on FB when she was having issues with the first transplant... i really thought it would get resolved ... but i guess it just not meant to be...

re: bobby J she is not in any pain... so thats something anyway... she still with us but not for long im afraid...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE .... HEP C IS A SILENT KILLER... MARY HAD NO IDEA SHE HAD IT UNTIL SHE FOUND OUT SHE HAD CIRROSIS... GET TESTED!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE....

she is the third person i know who has died from this in their early 50's.... i just turned 50... i am on treatment now for the hep and its working, my liver damage was no where near what mary's was also and if you get to it before cirrosis, it's reversible...

please ... EVERYONE ... get tested... you can get this from sharing needles, straws, razors, toothbrushes, and before 1996 blood transfusions... GET TESTED

I like this one because Mary is not wearing her trademark sunglasses, which she is likely wearing right now in the Hospital. This was taken in Chicago in 2006 one day after the Stones show at Soldier Field.
