Things I Don't Want To See Next Tour!

Being optomistic they'll tour sometime here is my list of "tour turn offs". Please add your own.

*Stadiums
*$500 tickets
*$200 fanclub renewals
*Mick Twittering a song every night
*More than 1 extra on stage at anytime
*A B-Stage
*Ronnie/Keith alternating taking nights off or worse both taking the night off
*Mick yelling "hear we go" four times a song
*15 song warhorse laden sets

Add -OD on Blondie -Keith not playing while singing -Predictable sets! For every 50 shows, we deserve at LEAST 60 songs, with none played more than 30-40 times

the cavalcade of back-up singers, extra musicians etc...
I watched a PBS doc last night about the Stones in Rio - basically just a behind-the-scenes look at the production crews...
It was amazing - 10 people backstage manning all these controls - video monitors, signals for which song was next etc.....it as almost like the stones were puppets on stage and all the wizards backstage were running the show...
and i just thought how simple it was in the 'good old days' when the stones went on stage and just played.

I know what you mean, back to basics, Just The Stones & their instruments, like on the '69 tour, not even horns.

Buddy Guy is ok and old timers like him, but Jack White cant sing, or Fergie, Agulara, etc. Keeping it Stones only is best IMO.

I don't know what Mick is trying to prove - that he's still cool with hip, younger set? That he can still bump and grind with the current little miss thang...

Like you said, the old-timers are cool, but the Stones don't need to pander to the iPod generation.

I want a back to basics tour too. Stripped down, simple stage, smaller venues, no extra singers, horn players etc. on stage - just the boys. For me, if they chose to go this way, they could be playing all the warhorses they wanted and I wouldn't complaint - they'd sound way different. With all the running and posing and huge stage, it ain't gonna happen. And sadly, I think we're all just wasting KBs here cause I don't see them giving up on that or trying any of our suggestions, great as they are for them as a band Roll Eyes

But hey - at THIS time, the mere fact they're going to be out there touring is good enough for me.

I'd be happy IF there was a new tour soon, full stop.

But I guess this is another one of those "unrealistic phantasies" threads, so I'm with texile: the choice between clubs, arenas and stadiums would be great again, get rid of all the "fillers", even if that means we'd then realise what a mistaken idea this is because Charlie and Mick are extremely professional, but Keith and Ron not consistently so, so God only knows what would happen if we stripped them down to basics, we'd probably be horrified... Also, while I'm at it, could Mick pay ME 500£ each to get out of bed and go see him perform multiple show , stick to a setlist and show-openers dictated by my choosing, and could he also buy me a helicopter to avoid the tedious drives/flights to and from concerts??
