The theft charge was for breaking into her ex-girlfriend's home and taking some personal things. It wasn't as if she was stealing because she had to. That girlfriend had recently said she could not help Casey, even though she repeatedly tried to get her into 12-step programs. She finally gave up and left her.

I think in recent years her parents had cut off some of her funds hoping to nudge her into straightening out her life. I heard they had taken her daughter away from her as well.

She was a very troubled young woman.
