Yeah well we knew it wouldnt last! Thats the beauty of being single, there are many fish in the sea and with RONNIE's fame he should have no problem hooking another fish. The problem is finding a fish that will be an asset, not an asshole! Jo was an asset. Katia, Ana, NEXT!! RONNIE! CALL ME hahaha! I'd be a perfect choice to look after Ronnie and satisfy his every need and save his fvcking dignity. I've got experience with alcoholics so I know how to handle them, ahh but RONNIE prefers younger girls. Thats a mistake, honestly they are only out for themselves and have no interest in the man behind the fortune, its for their own selfish gain. I wonder how he is in bed.....my guess is he passes out so you got to get him early in the day. From what Ronnie wrote in his book, he and JO had an active sexual life, which is great for a married couple of so many years. I do believe he said Jo was the initiator. Anyway RONNIE will be fine with the right choice in a woman! Next!

Desperate attempt by Ronnie to upstage Taylor. With all the attention going around about 'Exile', he's just reminding everyone that he's still here... maybe she said that she'd heard 'Plundered My Soul' and commented 'Wow..I didnt know you could play like THAT!'

Seriously - what an utter knobend.

Over to you, Mel Belli....

Could be...if that's the case we'll be needing another jacket (with extra long arms) for Ronnie too.  Maybe something in the pastel plaid he's so fond of.

Thanks for the good laugh!

And Mel...

No "fire him.  fire him now"? ( I'd use a Ronnie emoticon here, but I just realized there aren't any!!)

Its coming on NOW!!!!

http://player.absoluteradio.co.uk/core/player/?rolled&service=abc

Intro:  Tumbling Dice (RS)
He said RS use it all the time for soundcheck before shows

1. Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (Beatles)
He said he used to tune into Beatles radio show every friday and then go practice in the garage with the birds his band at the time

2.  The Meters (funky)  (old tune)

3.  Heard it Through the Grapevine (M. Gaye)
[RW strumming same]  "M Gaye chose E-Flat for that song egad... my band th Birds did one called No Good Without You Baby which I have not heard before or since and that was Marvin so maybe we could dig that out for a future program"
"Stay tuned b/c coming up I have Buddy Holly, The Byrds (which birds?) and Elvis"

4.  Hello I Love You (Doors)  (Alt. Extended Version)  Morrison howl at the end

ad again.    too many ads.
traffic report  anti-clockwise  ...closed between junction 30 and 35 check with your airline before traveling....
ad for telegraph  two free Dr. Who audiobooks with subscription...

5.  Summertime Blues..Eddie Cochran
[RW chopping on some of that song]  "amazingly talented guy he played all the instruments himself... In 1960 tragically he died in a car crash and Gene Vincent was in the car too but he survived by Eddie didn't.  A good looking guy who moved well and inspired a lot of musicians like me....

"Now I'm gonna take you to 1965 to the 2nd best album ever voted  its Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan.... a fellow Gemini like myself and ...we communicate well... we know what is coming next thru the guitar without discussing it... "saw him couple of years ago at a studio in Ireland and we cut some good demos toegether....."

6.  Like A Rolling Stone (Dylan)

"Yea that was Mike Bloomfield on guitar there along with Bob Dylan from 1965..."

"The next song that I am going to play you is a song that interested me when I was a kid, Jimmy Reed and lots of established acts and stars and it just comes down from the ages.  He was famous for being very drunk and would often (spit?) ____ into the audience" [strums] "yea Jimmie Reed Shame Shame Shame".

6.  Shame Shame Shame (Jimmie Reed)

[Ads]

7.  Proud Mary (Creedence Clearwater Revival)

["Enter the musical mind of Ronnie Wood..."]
[Ads] [Traffic Report ...disruption at the airports] [Ad for Tribune, Cocoa Puffs, Volvo, Homebase, AcDC Ironmnan II, Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings at the O2]

8.  That'll be the Day (Buddy Holly)

missed commentary due to rudeness of boss!

9. You Aint' Goin Nowhere (Byrds/Gram Parsons)  from 1968 from the album sweetheart of the radio and the byrds went off from there and its a good example of country music jazz and rhythm and blues

10.  Money Honey (Clyde McPhatter)
That was Clyde McPhatter hoping that his woman is going to bail him out of some financial trouble

11.  Shimmy Shimmy Cocoa Bop

Back in the 70s the Faces went to see Elvis in Vegas and we got thrown out because we were saying play us some rock n roll.
was there with my ex wife and security came and said 'one more word out of you' but we want to hear some rock no roll and it was a kind of Elvis has left building kind of feel.

12.  Jailhouse Rock (Elvis Presley)

"So that was Eivis Presley with Jailhhouse Rock and there is a great video to that song. It was all set in b&w and everybody had cardboard instruments.... and Elvis had a fireman's pole that he slid down not only did he make music and albums  and made one of the best videos ever to jailhouse rock and you should check that out.

and so we are almost out of time now and next week we are going to listen to some of the all time greatest female artists of all time
so to give you a taste of what's to come here is Joni Mitchell with Big Yellow Taxi

13.  Big Yellow Taxi (J. Mitchell)

14.   Suffragette City (D. Bowie)

15.  What you're Proposing (Status Quo)

I guess that's the end of the show (??)

Very funny anecdote about Vegas Elvis shunning the "hits" in favor of stuff like 'Ode To Billie Joe'.

Surprised he didn't give a shout out to New Barbarians bandmate Ziggy Modeliste when he played The Meters' 'Cissy Strut'...

Nice! Too bad he didn't actually play it.

Wish he'd dig a little deeper, à la the Dylan and Petty radio shows.
It's worth tuning in just to hear the stories, but imo that'd make it mo' better.

BTW, all three shows are archived @ www.ronniewoodradio.com

Elvis performed 'Ode to Billy Joe' in concert? Er..I stand to be corrected, but I'm not too sure about THAT.

Yeah, no doubt the tabs will pick up on those Chrissie and Janis quotes.

Loved the story about him and Keith meeting Aretha.
"She chain-smoked Kool cigarettes. I'd never seen anybody smoke more than I did."

Then she blew them away playing piano and singing 'Jumpin' Jack Flash'...  Cool

No reason given. piss off
