I wish people would just accept that we all are simply and nothing but the sum of our choices. It's his life. He gets to make the choices and other people may think they are not good choices, but that is not the point. Perhaps life in the sober lane is just unbearable to him,...Perhaps he wants to live exactly like this

Jo your words are true and make a good point. We are ALL the sum of our choices! Sometimes, hopefully most of the time we make good choice's but everyone makes some bad choices too! It's making more good choices than bad choices that counts! Math lesson:
1 good choice + 1 bad choice = 0, we havent gotten anywhere.
2 good choices and 1 bad choice = 1 up, we're improving.
6 bad choices + 0 good choices =  6 feet under. The more wrong choices we make takes us closer to death!

But your point is good, it's RONNIE's choices, not ours. But, it is painful to watch someone you care about make bad choices repeatedly. The definition of insanity = Doing the same things over and over and expecting different results!

Funny! And deserving of its own little thread, as the possibilities are endless...

Will someone please photoshop that picture of Hanna and put the "I screwed Ronnie and only got a scarf" on the front of her sweater? Thanks!

RONNIE WOOD: THE ROLLING STONE WHO DOESN'T HAVE TO GROW UP

Another woman young enough to be his granddaughter spoke this week of a three-day fling with him - but ever since a lucky break landed him in the world's biggest rock band, Ronnie Wood has indulged his every whim.

When Ronnie Wood left his wife, how appropriate it was that the other woman should be a cocktail waitress.

The Rolling Stone has enjoyed a long relationship with alcohol during a life packed full of excess. The drink, the drugs, the trashed hotel rooms‚ he has almost every imaginable rock star badge of honour. In fact, before he walked out, the apparent success of his 23-year marriage was just about his only concession to growing up.

His wife Jo was regarded as a calming influence who persuaded him to do the things that most of us take for granted, such as eating regular meals. It was Jo who encouraged her husband to check into rehab at times when his legendary drinking threatened to spiral out of control.

So, with her out of his life, it should come as no surprise to learn that Wood, 62, has been having a fl ing with another beauty who is less than half his age. Following an acrimonious break-up with Ekaterina Ivanova, the 21-year-old Russian waitress who cost the star his marriage, Wood has been dating Hannah Kamelmacher. At 26 she is a few years older than Ivanova, who is appearing in Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother solely on the strength of her 18-month affair with Wood.

Kamelmacher, who works in public relations, is also said to have Russian roots and admitted this week that she found the Rolling Stone “engaging” after they met over drinks. They were spotted canoodling at the Masters snooker tournament at Wembley and are reported to have spent the night together at Wood’s £4,000-a-week miniature castle in Surrey. Friends of Kamelmacher revealed that she was “star struck” by Wood, while he made no attempts to keep the fling quiet.

“He’s still living the rock star dream and many of us secretly envy him,” says Keith Badham, a writer who collaborated on Wood’s biography Rock On Wood. “You can’t imagine Ronnie Wood sitting at home in a pair of slippers. Some men his age are thinking about their bus pass but he’s thinking about another tour with one of the world’s greatest bands. The Rolling Stones were rock’s bad boys and that brought money and a lifestyle that Ronnie still enjoys."

"He thinks he’s indestructible and he has never really grown up. Why should he? Jo was a stabilising infl uence and he no doubt thought he had some catching up to do after they broke up. Being a Stone helps. There’s still an allure. I don’t think there would be the same attraction for women if he was in an ordinary nine-to-fi ve job. You can’t blame him for taking advantage of that. Ronnie has a real zest for life.”

Wood is the first in a long line of his family to be born on dry land; his ancestors were Romany gypsies who, from the 1700s, lived on barges. He started his music career in 1964 with R&B band The Birds. After a stint with the Jeff Beck Group as a bassist in the late Sixties he began working with the Small Faces, along with Rod Stewart, becoming a full-time mem- ber in 1969 when the band’s name was changed to The Faces.

For a while they were the biggest UK band after the Stones, enjoying hits such as Stay With Me and Cindy Incidentally, on a tour to the US they reputedly became the first act to  perform with a bar on stage. Even then Wood’s alcohol consumption was excessive. An average day would start with eight pints of Guinness, then on to vodka and a bottle of Sambuca to round off the evening.

Wood was a pal of Jimi Hendrix, at one point sharing a fl at with him, and got to know Mick Jagger because they met so often at rock parties. The pair collaborated on Jagger’s 1973 hit It’s Only Rock ’n’ Roll. When Mick Taylor shocked the Stones by announcing his departure in 1974, Wood was his natural successor not just for his talents as a guitarist but for his ability to match the other Stones drink for drink.

Down the years he made attempts to wean himself off alcohol and  at one stage it seemed he had a season ticket at the Priory clinic.

The first time he emerged from rehab fellow Stone Keith Richards sent him a fax bearing the scrawled message: “Rehab is for quitters.” Wood said at the time that he had been told he was only six months from death. Eventually, however, there was the tacit admission that he enjoyed the booze and socialising too much to give them up, despite the loss over the years of his drinking buddies Hendrix, comedian Peter Cook and actor John Belushi.

Wood has said  he was born to be a drinker. He grew up on an estate near Heathrow and watched his father drinking, partying and playing the piano at the Nag’s Head pub every night. He would sit on the windowsill with a packet of crisps and a Coca -Cola and watch dad pound the keys.

At closing time there would be a shout of “All back to No 8” (the Woods’ home) and  everyone took as much booze as they could carry. After the Woods moved out the new owners found 1,700 empty Guinness bottles in the back garden. A friend of Wood once said: “For him drinking goes hand in hand with having fun and he’d rather be dead than be boring. I remember him saying  when he went into rehab, ‘The thing is, I don’t want to end up being a boring so and so like Clapton.’”

Later drugs became a factor in his life. In 1980, Ronnie and Jo were arrested on the Caribbean island of St Maarten, charged with possession of 200g of cocaine and jailed for five days. When Ronnie and Jo separated in 2008 she got to keep their £10million home in Richmond, Surrey, while he went off the rails again. At the time Wood’s publicist took the unusual step of speaking out about Ivanova, claiming she was a “drinking partner”.

The spokesman said: “He met her in a dodgy escort bar at four in the morning when he was boozed out of his mind. He’s fallen off the wagon big time. He’s spiralling out of control and every time he returns to his drinking it’s worse than before. He’s not even clear-headed enough to check himself into rehab. He’s in a very bad way. He’s not even waking up until late afternoon. He’s very much spiralling. He’s on two bottles of vodka a day and he has a size 28 waist.”

Given the abuse of his body over time, Wood really can be considered rock’s great survivor. Even his jet-black hair, which he attributes to his gypsy ancestors, is that of a much younger man. In addition to the rented castle, complete with gargoyles, which he shared with Ivanova, Wood has an estate in County Kildare, Ireland, where he breeds racehorses. In Ireland he won the Small Breeder of the Year award in 1998 and is proud of the success of his horse Sandy-mount Earl, named after his estate.

Inside the house there’s a recording studio and bar, done out like a traditional Irish pub, where he can serve himself Guinness. Wood is also a keen fisherman, indicating that there’s more to the Rolling Stone than just partying. Another talent is for painting; before becoming a rock star he went to Ealing Art College in the Sixties and has dabbled ever since.

It was only when he was strapped for cash following a disastrous investment in a London club in the Eighties that he became serious about his art and his works can now fetch hundreds of thousands of pounds. Soon after the split with Jo his personal wealth was put at £20million.

Keith Badham says: “Ronnie has hidden depths. In addition to being an accomplished guitarist he is a mighty fine painter. Some of his work is very clever and he should not just be regarded as a drunken rock star. People forget that he’s just as happy when he’s in his studio painting quietly.”

Terry Rawlings, who wrote the Rock On Wood biography, endorses the view that there’s more to Wood than meets the eye. He believes that he was deeply affected by the death of his first wife Krissy, a former model who died in 2005, aged 57, when she accidentally overdosed on Valium which she was taking to combat her depression. Wood has three children: Jesse, from his marriage to Krissy, and his daughter Leah and son Tyrone from his marriage to Jo.

The split left relations with his children strained. Rawlings says: “In the space of about four years Ronnie lost his mother, ex-wife, and two brothers, Ted and Art. He was particularly close to Art, who taught him to play the guitar. Those losses pushedhim off the rails and left him vulnerable.” Nonetheless Rawlings accepts that Wood, who was cautioned for common assault after a bust-up with Ivanova in December, has never really grown up.

He says: “Ronnie Wood is like all rock stars. They’re eternal children aren’t they?”

I can't believe she got on a tv show out of this ordeal, this must be a new low for reality tv, speaking of which, maybe Ronnie needs to go on Sober House and have Dr. Drew straighten his ass out

I take aboard your points, Heart Of Stone, but I respectfully disagree on some things. Firstly: by your definition, someone who has multiple stints in rehab is not a ‘winner’ OK, I can comprehend your view there – but hang on: does that then make them a ‘looser’? I don’t think it quite works like that.

Ronnie is an alcoholic, and he knows he is, and he knows it is killing him... that makes Ronnie! When you know something is wrong and killing you, and do it anyway, it creates shame and that shame is fueling his drinking... it is not an unbreakable cycle, and only a person who is incapable of being honest, is beyond help... which Ronnie isn't. Like Jostorm said, it is his choice and he gets the consequences, some of which are how he fucks over other people along the way... like pulling the hair of a twenty year old, inabilty to work well in his band, destroying a marriage... it doesn't matter if you're a rock star or not... ruining your marrieage, relationships, work ect.. over booze effects alot of lives... making Ronnie Wood a selfish, self centered alcoholic who refuses help. I will shed one tear when/if he dies b/c of this... and remember, alcoholism kills in many ways and is never on a death certificate...

I wouldn't call anybody a looser, just unfortunate, but as Pdog mentioned Ronnie knows what's going on, & isn't being honest with himself, long before Rehabs were invented, this says a lot about Alcoholics.

"RARELY HAVE we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path. Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will not completely give themselves to this simple program, usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves. There are such unfortunates. They are not at fault; they seem to have been born that way. They are naturally incapable of grasping and developing a manner of living which demands rigorous honesty. Their chances are less than average. There are those, too, who suffer from grave emotional and mental disorders, but many of them do recover if they have the capacity to be honest."

Some people have a really strong obsession and self loathing and depression has a LOT to do with keeping picking up the driink and they don't want to hurt anyone but they don't know how to stop its a miserable place to be. he's probably an extremely sensitive fellow.  See:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBNmr2yF3Sc

My guy was so ultra sensitive and got his feelings hurt so easily and was SO depressed. He didn't want to hurt us but he couldn't bear to be alone after driving us away. its a sad way of life. they can't see how it can be better
I say put him in hospital and on lithium STAT.  my friend died and I'm worried Ronnie will too

As far as Ronnies "affairs" go ....seriously....while I do find it interesting and fun to kick about here.... but really I don't totaly "care" in the "caring" sense so much. How can I? I do not know the bloke.

*I wish him and his family well because I don't want to see anyone or any family all screwed up.

However what I am truly heartily concerned about is his place in The Rolling Stones and whats taking place there with him. That's all I really know of the guy. I realize one aspect certainly can affect another in situations but what ever happend to ....you know .....just picking up the guitar, getting together with the band, and working? It's his work, past time, friends, and livelyhood in a sense.

If my girlfriend dumps me it would have no true impact on my going to work in the morning (even though I may be a bit under the weather and out of sorts that day). However in the end I still gotta "live" in certain respects. I think this is what the guy will do. ....or should do eventually.

Now If his health is a concern or is failing thats another story (I still think that part is all over blown).

The Rolling Stones were his livelyhood before the Rusky ...and they will prove to be his livelyhood after the Rusky if he has his scrooples. In other words ....get rolling Ronnie. Ya still got ur mates and those mates just happen to be The Rolling Stones. A fresh album and possible lucrative tour awaits you. No female should put a stall to that. If the dudes heart just isn't into The Rolling Stones any more well then that is another story. I can't make him want to be in a band any more. Nor should I WANT anyone to do something they just didn't want to anymore (although in this case I just might make the exception here hah Wink )...however I don't think this is the case.

That's my take.

Fucked up though he may be, I think he's still, for various reasons, very much wanting to be in the Rolling Stones. His upcoming album isn't called 'I Feel Like Playing' for nothing.

I'm not so sure his three bandmates are quite as enthusiastic, to be honest. Mick and Keith appear to have settled comfortably into Pipe and Slippers Mode since August 2007.

I feel like playing, instead of working?
I feel like playing with a teenager?

Holy Toledo Mr. Gazza. You and I totally agree here. Yes. I too think Ronnie, after losing touch with everything from his curb on drinking to his family, certainly does not want to lose The Rolling Stones to boot.

That would be the final true seal to the deal in his spiral and I think he knows this deep down. Say what you want ....from fishing to painting but music IS the dudes true and ultimate passion. I honestly feel he certainly doesn't want to lose his place in it.

**After all....  for the moment at least... that is all the guy has left. He's lost much in the past two years and he has got to realize certain parts of his life will either be non-existent or never the same from here on out.

I think The Stones are the only thing he has to turn to right now. As well, it's the only thing un-tarnished, as well as it being his ultimate gig in life. He's gotta know this I'd say.

This is why I think he will stick with their ground rules.

Ian

Ronnie Wood plans a solo world tour

London (ANI): Ronnie Wood is set to go on a solo world tour, it has emerged. The Rolling Stones member reportedly wants to reprise his music career following break-up with Russian girlfriend Katia Ivanova last year. A friend said that he now wants to do “what he does best”.

“Ronnie was banking on the Stones getting back together but while that’s off the agenda for now he’s still determined to start performing live again in the very near future,” the Daily Express the pal as saying. The friend added: “He will have no trouble putting a band together. He knows his music has been overshadowed by his personal life and he wants to get back on track. Ronnie is a musician first and foremost and touring is in his blood.

“Ronnie has already recorded a new album that will come out later this year. Now he really wants to put on some shows to help promote it.” Meanwhile, Wood was recently spotted with a young Russian beauty, Hannah Kamelmacher, at the PokerStars.com Masters snooker tournament at Wembley Arena.

Here's the original article in the Daily Express:

HAVING seen his personal life descend into chaos, troubled rocker Ronnie Wood is now planning to embark on a solo tour.

While The Rolling Stones have announced there are no plans to hit the road in 2010, Ronnie, 62, is still anxious to revive his musical career and play live again, we hear.

The veteran star has recently been better known for his ill-fated rela-tionship with 21-year-old Russian Katia Ivanova, who proved unpop-ular last week by being the first housemate to be evicted on reality show Celebrity Big Brother, but pals say he’s keen to get back to doing “what he does best”.

“Ronnie was banking on the Stones getting back together but while that’s off the agenda for now he’s still determined to start performing live again in the very near future,” says a friend of the shaggy-haired rocker.

Ronnie has been a professional musician ever since joining The Birds in 1964. He went on to play in The Faces, The Jeff Beck Group and The Creation, along with the Stones.

“He will have no trouble putting a band together,” adds the pal. “He knows his music has been overshadowed by his personal life and he wants to get back on track. Ronnie is a musician first and foremost and touring is in his blood.”

Wood, who has battled alcoholism with seven trips to rehab, split from wife Jo, 54, in 2008 after more than 20 years together.

Last December he received a police caution after a bust-up with Katia, for whom he left Jo. There have been concerns he may be in no fit physical state to tour and Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger is among those known to have been offering his support.

However Ronnie shows little sign of calming down. Recently he was spotted with another young Russian beauty,Hannah Kamelmacher, at the PokerStars.com Masters snooker tournament at Wembley Arena last week and was back at the event on Sunday with another mystery woman.

“Ronnie has already recorded a new album that will come out later this year,” adds our mole. “Now he really wants to put on some shows to help promote it.”

A spokesperson for Ronnie was not available for comment.
