There's more to this than Ronnie. He is just the obvious... Keith was in horrible condition the last leg of the tour... As much as we talk about The Stones replacing Ronnie, they need at least one competent guitar player upfront... and right now they have zero... Time is not on our side. i'm not trying to be a downer, i'm just being realistic. I liked seeing the Stones that were a high speed train wreck about to happen, that was a thrill... but I'm not going to see the little engine that could version, that would be lame... If they can't tour this year by September, it'sb'c of Keith and Ronnie's health, Mick's willingness and of course the bottom line of money... one thing I know they aren't considering ,is fans like me. I agree. Their is more to this. Waiting doesn't make them better. Not sure it's just Ronnie. Not the economy. Don't wanna say Keith can't play. But this does seem strange to put it off for one more year. Don't think they are specifically waiting for the 50th anniversary. If tehy could go out on the road this year I think they would. They're not necessarily putting it off for "one more year". They weren't, in all likelihood going to go on the road this year until probably around September, as usual. "2011" doesn't necessarily mean "September 2011". They may tour several months earlier than that. If things have been put off primarily because of Ronnie, that could mean a postponement of a few months. It only takes one reason to postpone a tour, and the 'leaks' to the press over the last few weeks would suggest that Ronnie has been the problem. If Keith can't play in 2010 and the econmoy is fucked, then neither of those are going to necessarily improve dramatically by 2011 for it to be of significance. The press release issued by Bernard Doherty when he denied Charlie was quitting specifically mentioned that the band were making plans to commemorate their 50th anniversary as a band. That, to me, equates with a tour starting in 2011 and going through to summer 2012.
