Not onlythat, but it seems like just yesterday that even Ronnie's long-time fans (myself included) were exteremly disappointed in his treatment of his ex, his treatment of his liver, and his failure to appreciate how his behavior was negatively impacting the Stones.

I ain't sure who got thru to the boy or how, but he is now the pride of the Stones.  And ambassador of rock and roll.  I am psyched for him.  And I hope he continues his new found freedom cuz I sure am appreciating him a whole lot more.

He lives in London. Kingston, in fact - just like Ronnie does.

Never thought of the 'Jo Jo' link - funny!   Grin

He goes to alot of concerts and gigs. I've noticed his posts, and seen him myself at a few shows around the globe!

Thanks for the video and the pic of Paul and Ronnie is really cool, they are mutual admirers. And IMO Paul is one of the best singer-songwriters who ever lived. The man's a fvcking legend! When I was a kid I had an I LOVE PAUL button and all of his posters and cards. He was so cute as a young man and he is a very good looking man at his age. I still love the guy and seen his shows every time he comes round. I would of never imagined Paul and Woody together, its a special event. I think its wierd that people say do you like the Beatles or the Stones, as if you cant like both. Apples and oranges but both delicious.

I really like Ronnie's guitar. Don't know if it's his or if it was borrowed from the band.

BTW last month I was offered this one.

...

Has some small issues. So it's not a collectors guitar.
Until a few years ago it was one of Rich Robinson's main recording and touring guitars.
e.g. it was used when The Black Crowes toured with Jimmy Page in the 90's.

yes, Pauly went to quite a few shows on the last Euro tour - he was with me and GTRM in Lisbon & Madrid - and was at the Beacon shows too (and Atlantic City, I think). Plus the London gigs you were at too, of course.

I was actually at Macca's house about 10 days ago. He's had the same London home since about 1966. It's literally about a 6 minute walk from Abbey Road Studios. It must have been a pretty nice feeling when he was strolling to work each morning knowing that whatever he was going to do that day it was going to sell millions of copies and people would still be enjoying it over 40 years later.

Strangely enough, I've never seen him in concert, although I did see him join Neil Young onstage for 'A Day In The Life' at Hyde Park in 2009.

It's interesting, and I didn't know it at the time, growing up in the 60's, but, apparently, in the United Kingdom  one could only be a Stones OR a Beatles fan. At least for the most part. Since we, {those of us in America--maybe other places too, I don't know} didn't have that "home country" rivalry between the two, U.S. teens could be fans of both. And I was one of those. They each had their place and served their audiences, and fans, well. Apples and oranges is the perfect way to put it. Smiley

Even though most of us probably think of the R&RHOF as pretty much of a popularity contest and/or sham, I was glad to see them get the recognition---also Donovan and, especially LAURA NYRO, who should have been in there LONG ago,  IMO. At least it gets the artists names out there again, for new and younger fans to learn about and explore....and maybe jog the memories of a few older fans as well... Wink

That's a bit of a stereotype which I think has been very much exaggerated , in all fairness.

It does crack me up though that people - and middle aged people at that - still get worked up about it on these boards as if it's some kind of football rivalry. And act like it's still 1964.

Even more so as the band members themselves were, and are, friends.

And we were always led to believe {to one extent or another--blast those teen mags in the 60's!} that the Beatles and The Stones were , if not enemies, at least rather bitter rivals....I'm sure there HAD to be fans in the U.K. who were Beatles as well as Stones fans... Wink Hey, I was 11-12 when the bands became known in the U.S. , and I was going to love both of them, {and most British bands as well}, either way! Smiley

Still, in every interview with Mick or Keith, when asked about their opinion about The Beatles, they seem to react a little uncomfortable and sarcastic. If Keith says their best song is Love Me Do, it's not ment funny, but it's pure sarcasme. I have never heard any of them admit The Beatles wrote alot of really good music, only that they worked together in the sixties on different levels. I often get the idea that they really can't admit how great The Beatles were. They may have been friendly to each other , but good friends? I don't think so. Closest to being a "friend" maybe was John in the late sixties when The Beatles began to fall apart, but we all know John later put a knife in Mick's back several times in different interviews.

Did he really diss Mick?

The Beatles must have a good laugh with the Satanic fiasco...maybe a bit less when they copied the Let it Be title and came out on top. I do remember the story in the Tony Sanchez book when everyone was grooving to Stones music in his club and then Macca gave him a "Hey Jude" acetate to play and everyone was in awe...

That's Lennon's problem. In any interview I've ever read, both Mick and Keith exhibited a lot more class and a lot less bitchiness.
