RONNIE WOOD used his Faces reunion with Rod Stewart at Hard Rock Calling to get back into the swing before setting out on the road again with The Rolling Stones.

As they celebrate their 50th anniversary next year, The Rolling Stones are being flooded with festival offers and a world headline tour deal.

Backstage at HRC on Sunday, Ronnie Wood revealed: “I need the practice of playing to a big crowd again, so I was chuffed when Rod invited me down.”

While nothing is yet set in stone, the 64-year-old is certainly on a mission to get healthy enough for months on tour.

Ronnie refused all offers of free booze in the Hard Rock VIP tent, only stopping for a few nachos.

I’m told: “Ronnie only wanted to drink cola and was more interested in checking his hair on the side of a truck as he made his way to the stage than any of the cocktails on offer.”

Just got back from the Royal Albert Hall, seeing BB King. At least I thought I was seeing the regular BB King show I've seen for the last 19 years. Tonight turned out to be 30 minutes of a BB King show and then an hour long jam with Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, Slash and Ronnie Wood - what a show!

The Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood bags two radio awards

The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood bagged two prizes at the Arqiva Commercial Radio awards last night (July 6).

The rocker won Specialist Programme Of The Year and Newcomer Of The Year for his Absolute Radio show.

His victory comes just months after Wood beat Pulp's Jarvis Cocker to the Music Radio Personality Of The Year honour at the Sony Radio Academy Awards.

The prize comes after Wood recently joined his old Faces bandmate Rod Stewart onstage at Hard Rock Calling in London last month.

The pair performed 'Maggie May' and Faces track 'Stay With Me' at the Hyde Park show.
