Ronnie Wood and young lover put on united front despite friends fearing they will split after series of rowsBy Sara Nathan and Ben Todd
Arm in arm and heading to a glitzy party, everything appeared normal in the world of Ronnie Wood and his young Brazilian girlfriend last night.
However, the united front is merely a cover for a rocky relationship.
Friends say the guitarist and polo coach Ana Araujo have been 'having troubles' and fear they will split for good.
Indeed Wood, who has been alone at home in Claygate, Surrey, has even been seeking a reconciliation with ex-wife Jo, according to friends.
However, the 63-year-old Rolling Stone, and his lover, 31, were reconciled before the party at Automat in central London.
He has praising her for helping him stay sober in his long battle with drink and drugs, but privately the pair have had a series of rows.
Last night, a close friend of the star said: ‘Ronnie and Ana have been having troubles – and the likelihood is they’ll call it quits officially in the next few days. They had a wonderful time in South America at Christmas, but since they got back Ronnie has had a complete change of heart. It’s as if he has tired of Ana.’
The couple had enjoyed a holiday in Punta del Este, Uruguay, and were last seen in public together on January 31 when they had dinner with Wood’s former Faces bandmate Rod Stewart.

Former model Mrs Wood, 55, was publicly humiliated when Wood left her for Russian waitress Ekaterina Ivanova, then 19, in 2008. Another source said: ‘Ronnie saw Jo this week and they had a heart-to-heart. He told her he still loves her and she is the love of his life. He realises that he has made a mistake. It’s a typical Ronnie thing to do.
‘Jo is only just getting her life back on track, so it all very difficult for her – but of course, she still loves him, he’s the father of her children, she will always have feelings for him.’
Mrs Wood and the guitarist – who has been in rehab for drink and drug problems seven times in three decades – met in 1978 and married seven years later.
They had two children together, Leah, 32, and Tyrone, 26. They also raised Jamie, 35, her son from her first marriage, and 33-year-old Jesse, Wood’s son from his first marriage.

Following their divorce, Mrs Wood sold their £13million home in Kingston, South-West London.
Wood’s relationship with Miss Ivanova came to a bitter end when they split following a violent row in December 2009 in which he ended up being cautioned by police.
Soon afterwards Wood met Miss Araujo at the Royal Opera House and the pair embarked on a more low-key relationship.
Speaking last May, Wood said: ‘Ana’s a good girl. She is very attractive. She is lovely – and very supportive.’
Last night, both Mrs Wood and a Rolling Stones spokesman declined to comment
