Glad to see The Stooges in there. Just wish Ron Asheton had lived long enough to see this.
How many years in a row did they pass over the Stooges?
Answer: 15 - they've been eligible since 1994.
In the years since the Stooges have been eligible, the following
artists have gone in ahead of them: Elton John, Rod Stewart,
Gladys Knight & the Pips, Jefferson Airplane, the Shirelles, the
Bee Gees, Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel, Del Shannon, the Staple Singers,
Earth Wind & Fire, the Lovin' Spoonful, the Moonglows, James Taylor,
the Flamingos, Brenda Lee, Talking Heads, the Righteous Brothers,
the Dells, the O'Jays, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious 5, the Ronettes,
Leonard Cohen, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Bobby Womack, and
now Abba and Genesis. Eric Clapton went in three times.
Now, I ask you - by WHAT definition of "Rock & Roll" do ANY of the
acts mentioned here deserve to outrank the Stooges? I even LIKE
most of those people, but come ON.

The fact that they waited until Ron Asheton was dead to do it
just adds injury to the insult. I wish Iggy would tell them to
stick it deep inside.
