“What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there,” he says. “All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another.” - Keef

It has always been a favorite of mine...i always thought they would have pulled it out sometime especially in DC...as their local tribute...

They should resurrect it for the next tour.

Music, to me, is the joy, right? I love my kids most of the time, and I love my wife most of the time. Music I love all the time. It's the only constant thing in my life. It's the one thing you can count on. :Keith Richards 1993

I love that one because its so early 70s..
Jagger supposedly wrote this in light of all the trouble Lennon was having with the Nixon administration....

Great song. Funky groove that is still cool today. Great vocal from mick too. Very emotive.

Listened to IORR the other day.  Weird how they sped it up, but I dig it that way.  The slower mix just doesn't groove right.  Even more impressive is how they pulled it off live - it didn't lose any luster on Love You Live.  I could see them playing it on the (next) tour, but I don't know if Darryl plays synth...  Boring post

this is one of my faves off of IORR ... always has been.  Along with the title track, If u can't rock me, dance little sister, & ain't too proud to beg.

Someone above (I forget who) mentioned they thought that Mick had wrote this cuz of all the troubles Lennon was going thru.  I heard the same thing too, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least... Brian's smile

Hoover HATED the Stones. And many in the Nixon regime despised them too. But as the Stones were not really political, i dont the FBI were too interested in them. It's amazing what they got away with in those days. Tony Sanchez said in his book that some one was arranging the drugs for the band andi cant recall if he said it was the Feds or the mafia.

Probably not much difference really.

Would be interesting to see our boys' files.

Charlie - 3 pages - pissed in a sink, punched lead singer

Bill - 8 pages, all names of girls under the age of 13

Ronnie - 248 page - illcit use of drugs, violations of duty payments on 38 tractor trailer load of cigarettes, playing while intoxicated

Mick - 4207 pages - pages upon pages of sexual deviances with politicians gharish wives, politicians themselves, and various farmyard animals.

Keith - 8000 pages of illicit drug use, playing while intoxicated, various weapons charges, destruction of hotel property, and assault & battery with a telecaster.

Total paper volume - about 6 feet high.
