I'm gonna watch Four Flicks right now. The 02 Arena's London.
But still think the best of the four dvd's is that from Paris. and the first as introduction.

I'm listening to the 1989 Atlantic City show with Axl Rose and John Lee Hooker Boogie Chillin. 27 song setlist. Bitch at the #2 spot! Salt of the Earth, MICK comments they never played this song live before. Rock & Roll Circus doesnt count? Maybe MICK forgot about that! Terrifying. Harlem Shuffle. Little Red Rooster. 2000 Lightyears from Home. Great bootleg ~ thanks to whoever gave me that 3 cd-set ~ It's awesome! 1-2-1234- Cant Be Seen. I just cant be seen with you. oh your married anyway. Coz you're dangerous. Better off anyway. Truer words have never been spoken ~ or broken!

Mick's memory is usually hopeless, but he's sort of right on this occasion. They didnt play it 'live' at R n Roll Circus. The vocals were live, but they sang it over a pre-reccorded backing track.
(the rest of the show was live, of course)

They did 3 shows in Atlantic City in '89. The 2nd night was the broadcast - the versions they played over those 3 shows were the first occasions the song was played.

I went to all of those AC shows.
They were sooooo good.

Top priced ticket was a then unheard of $200.
Those tickets apparently didn't move as well as Donald Trump might've hoped.

Remember sitting on the floor a row behind a "high roller" and his mink clad wife at one of the shows.
She asked how much we paid for tickets - $38.50

She started berating her old man, who gave us the skunk eye for the rest of the night.

Guess they paid $200...

'Salt Of The Earth' was great, but 'Boogie Chillen' was better.
And liftoff was achieved the night Clapton sat in.

Gazzapedia strikes again! I didnt realize R&R Circus was not actually a "live" performance! It seemed live to me....maybe I better give that DVD another play! I usually play that when my kids have friends over the house, as an 'educational' music history lesson. Seeing is believing on how the old rock legends looked and sounded when they were young and beautiful!

I gave Undercover a spin today. Not my favorite, but good enough for a spin every now and then. I love She Was Hot. So glad they brought it to the stage in Nijmegen 07.

i got Being Mick from the library and watched it for the 2nd time.  thank god for producers or whoever you call the guy who fusses with the vocals because i think micks voice on its own is no pavarotti.

I've listen again the Brussel Affair, 'Gimmie Shelter' and see once again L&G. For compare the song, and give another hearing to Tumblin Dice.
Mick T, best era, in the Stones. but the Keith 's riff is just one.
Thanks to god we're living in the same Stones era taylor made smile

Drowning myself in a tidal wave of 'Some Girls' outtakes over the last few days - partly for research purposes, but also for pleasure.

Some of these unfinished tracks had great potential. I'd love to hear a full album of finished versions of the songs featuring Sugar Blue's incredible harmonica playing.

Is it a good film, Platter, to see? A sort of documentary or so? I think if Mick, had got  a Pavarotti's voice
how many teathers he could filled up? I cant see Mick in this way at all.
In these days, I like more Keith's voice. A perfect crooner.  But tell me about the movie.
have you see Performance? Is worth to see and maybe spent some money to buy it?

john lee hooker was a disaster in trying to sing his song...it was amazing he could even stand.  for the folks that don't know about this all he kept singing for 3-4 minutes [seemed like an hour] was hey hey hey hey heard mamma and papa talking hey hey hey a hey hey hey and then he would go of on some bad stumming and then back into the hey hey hey bit.  the old man was very drunk it seems.    the best part was keith apologizing for him after he left the stage saying...hey, it christmas time, you know what its like backstage, and then keith busted into happy.  fucking classic

i own this concert on vhs.

Wow!

I've been listening to some 1981 tour stuff. The show with Muddy Waters and the Kings Of Drugs bootleg from Hartford I believe. Also gave Bridges to Babylon a spin, just randomly. Haven't heard that in so long it seemed like new, but I enjoyed it for what it was. I'm not crazy on the Stones with drum loops but it was ok.
