Just read that in the Jade Jagger boutique opening topic :

"Joined by girlfriend L’Wren Scott, Mick had left Paris, where he was working"

Hum...if this is true, what is Mick working on and most importantly WHERE ?!

Well he has this castle in Joue les Tours in the Loire Vallée where ABB was recorded and I just found out he had a flat in downtown Paris, but I doubt he has a studio in there. The plot thickens, I'm surprised Ianbillen hasn't jumped in yet!

Yeah, and Mr. Sarkozy thought it may be a little too close to Ms. Sarkozy's.  Perverted Mick

Hehe...actually that's how I found out about that flat, when the Sarkozy couple, or rather Carla in view of the price, thought of buying YSL's former flat (if that's what you can call a 700sqm "domain" on the left bank of the Seine in Paris).

Thats probably a couple of hundred miles south of Paris. He does have a studio in it. Thats where the Stones recorded much of their last album.

If he has a flat in Paris once again, it must be a new one. First I've heard of it.

Same here, we'd heard about Keith's flat, rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, but not Mick's, apparently located 55 rue de Babylone.

Rue de Babylone? Now THAT'S a "Stonesy" address!!

Left bank just north of the Jardin du Luxembourg, if I'm not mistaken.

Barely a 20 minute stroll from Keith's place, then. Maybe shorter for L'wren.

I didnt realise you actually lived in Paris, gotdablouse. What part?

Just outside to the East actually.

I thought Keith had sold his apartment or at least had stopped using it ? I haven't heard of it since the interviews he gave there in the late 70s. Come to think of it he wasn't staying at the Warwick in 85 during the infamous DW sessions.

Yeah, I havent heard any mention of Keith being in Paris in recent years. Not sure if he still has that place. Seems to spend all his time now in Connecticut with some trips to Redlands and his place in the Caribbean (Turks & caicos, I think?)

Maybe he gave it to Marlon? I dont know.

Just by Mick "working" in France is really no reason to get excited... the guy works on several projects. He even has his own film company as we all know. As well if it IS studio or writing work it could be for something un-related to The Stones. If the article said ..."working on The next Stones release" or something to that effect I would pay more attention here.

HOWEVER. Here is what truly does excite me. A particular user on iorr and from stonesvikings named something along the lines of "Bjorlf" is always "in the know" through an inside connection. He even named what the title A Bigger Bang was a week before we got wind of the rumor. As well he was first to hear it. He heard it two weeks before any of it was exposed to us. He is well respected for getting the inside scoop for them at iorr.org and Stonesvikings.

Well he said very recently that The Stones have already spent ample time in the studio working on the next Stones album. He did not say it was extremely recent, yet he says they already spent considerable studio time on it (although he gave no indication if he knew how far they have come with the album).

THIS word from Bjolf or whatever is what actually really excites me. He isn't one to cry wolf or over exaggerate things either.

Bjornulf Vik is the iorr.org webmaster.
He's also published his fan club magazine for close to 30 years.

Definitely an insider...

Well that's good to hear, not in the least because it means they've been putting in some work over the years, not rushing it at the last minute like they've doing it since 1989 (with VL being en exception to some extent) as if they were recording albums each year.

Bjornulf . A user? he's the site owner.

He was actually very vague about what he said. As is actually often the case. "Quite a bit of studio time already" to be precise.

I think its quite natural to expect Mick to 'work' from time to time, in the sense that he would be working on songs. Its what a writer does. I'm  less convinced about the 'Stones' having been 'recording'as a unit though. They simply haven't been as much as in the same country at the same time to have done that - certainly not for any reasonable length of time. If they've been recording as a unit, its been down to the magic of pro tools!

Well now I know who Bjornulf really is. I feel a bit silly in not knowing initially. However it was best to speak up, and gain the insight versus not saying anything at all and still being completely in the dark about it.

and as Gazza stated, he is pretty vague most of the time about what he knows or has heard in relation to Stones dealings before it is public knowledge. You can't blame him. It is a sign of professional entertainment conduct one might say. Yet at least he gives some basic info. which is the way it should be.

Cheers Everyone.

I think Pro-tools is going to be used if they are together as a unit, or as in your scenario, sending each-other sound tracks digitally and adding their own bit. It seems to come into play one way or another in almost every major recording acts recordings now-a-days....even if it is simply used as a fix, snip, and edit program (which is its main strength).

Still, lets say they HAVE been recording together as a unit. My question is yours ....when....?
They have been at separate ends of the world from each-other more lately from what I've read and followed of them as you pointed out.

Is it possible they have got together as a group for weekend/week spurts here and there in working something up? I mean, I suppose thats possible but it isn't their style so I am still clueless on how, and IF they actually spent plenty of studio time on this as Bjorlf said. He is normally pretty credible is why I took the comment so seriously and why I'm pondering this as you are..
