Clapton, Beck Plan Canada, U.S. Shows

Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck have slotted two shows for Canada and one for the U.S in 2010. Is this all there is or could there be a tour in the works?
Right now it looks as if the dates – Feb. 18 in New York City at Madison Square Garden; Feb. 21 in Toronto at Air Canada Center and Feb. 22 in Montreal at Bell Centre – are the only Clapton / Beck co-headline dates on the books for North America. The guitar-slinging duo also plays London’s O2 Feb. 13-14.
Although Clapton and Beck have appeared together on various festival billings, their shows at Tokyo’s Saitama Super Arena earlier this year marked the first time the two legendary guitarists ever shared a headlining slot.
“Eric and I played together in Japan earlier this year and had a blast,” Beck said. “Since then we have been in regular contact and talked about doing a similar show for our fans. Looking forward to the shows in 2010.”
So far, only Toronto has announced its onsale with tickets going up Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. local time. For more information, please click here for Eric Clapton’s Web site and here for Jeff Beck’s home on the ‘Net.
I see this as a not so disturbing trend. Old guys playing with each other. Ok,I really would love to dig some hot new band that has a member under 30,40,50 et all. But if some really talented old dudes get together and decide to jam. Is that really a bad thing? Saw Clapton/Winwood last year. Sounded pretty good to me. Sounds like Eric is feeling nosatalgic these days as well. I certainly hope this turns into a series of shows like the Clapton/ Winwood tour. I'd love to see it that's for sure.
