I think most have heard that Cheap trick was performing Sgt Peppers live in Vegas...i have seen them many times and they have often thrown in a beatles cover into their sets...

here is a review sorta:

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2009/sep/17/cheap-tricks-rendition-classic-beatl...

new the question I pose...

Name a Stones album...or two or three...and name a band that might do it justice as a live performance in a nice venue with a nice dedicated stage set...accompaniment...etc

I leave it to you now... You rock!

Music, to me, is the joy, right? I love my kids most of the time, and I love my wife most of the time. Music I love all the time. It's the only constant thing in my life. It's the one thing you can count on. :Keith Richards 1993

'Exile On Main Street' is one of the albums that Phish is rumored to be considering for their Halloween show.

'Loving Cup' has long been a staple of their live sets...

I think I saw the first time they did it...Georga mason univ...back in 95...they could pull off the enire album...as could the Crowes...c'mon folks...what/who else???

Emotional Rescue...or Tattoo You...by Scissor Sisters...they could pull off the "dance beats as well as the Falsettos...just my little opinion

This cover of 'Midnight Rambler' might change your mind. ...

I love the CK's, but sadly they don't play out very much...

I respectfully beg to differ, shoey.

Fair 'nuff, Girly.

But Trey Anastasio ain't having no second fiddle.
And Phish's, err, um, style doesn't exactly lend itself to the type of player that MT is.

Shoey,

At this point, you know more about Phish than I do.   I believe that Phish is fiollowing the musical light of the Dead.  So, MT would not be a right fit.  But, their Loving Cup was so damn fine! Let's go get drunk

I'm a major Deadhead, but never got into Phish.
Saw them once, and that was enough for me.

Having said that, 'Loving Cup' is indeed sublime.

Disagree with the Phish/Dead comparison.
Their business paradigms are similar, but imo Phish is more Zappa-esque musically - quirky time signatures and odd lyrics...

YMMV,
Lefty

I like the Dead and I respect their impact.  But, I was never a Deadhead.  Actually, in college I used to quip "I'm Grateful they're Dead..."...lol.

And, I need to know more about Zappa to make an educated comparison.

I hear them on Sirius 25 all the time...they are always one of the bands that i see on the display when i think, " Who IS this band?"

You know...as i listen to these clips...I think they could pull off Exile...or at least most of it...
