Most of this isn't new, but a nice summary nonelethess. Wink
From www.beggarsbanquetonline.com

(September 6, 2009) -- With a 2010 Stones tour possibly looming, the band members have been keeping their chops together by collaborating with other artists.

Charlie spent part of the summer drumming behind boogie-woogie pianists Ben Waters and Axel Zwingenberger.  Unfortunately, as their jazz combo toured British theaters last week, a false rumor spread that Charlie was quitting the Stones.  The story was cooked up by an Australian web site and caught on like wildfire.  Charlie was forced to publicly deny the rumor and to state he ain't goin' nowhere -- he is still happily a member of the Rolling Stones.

Keith, who hopes to get the Stones in the studio by early next year, has himself been in the studio recently, laying down tracks with Jack White of the White Stripes.  Keith took a vacation in Venice over the summer and seems eager to work again.

Mick, who was recently spotted in Tuscany and Elba, recorded a duet a few months back with chanteuse Joss Stone.  It was for a project to benefit the United Nations and should see the light of day within the next few weeks.

Ronnie's been limbering up by guesting onstage with Pearl Jam and with his buddy Slash.  The Pearl Jam jam took place on August 11 at Shepherd's Bush Empire in London (Ronnie helped them cover "All Along The Watchtower"), while the Slash-and-burn occurred June 30 at the Quart Festival in Kristiansand, Norway.  Ronnie and the former Guns 'N Roser pounded out "Honky Tonk Women," "Stay With Me," "Knockin' On Heaven's Door," and "It's Only Rock 'N Roll."

As for a 2010 Stones tour, it's too early to tell.  The Stones petitioned New York City for a 2010 event in Brooklyn's Prospect Park (probably a press conference, a la their 2002 "Licks" tour announcement in The Bronx's Van Cortlandt Park), but whether they follow through with it -- let alone a full tour -- remains to be seen.

In the meantime, you can cure your Stones jones with some upcoming CDs or with a new Stones-related book.  Reissues of "Exile On Main Street" and "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out," both due in November, will feature previously unreleased bonus tracks.  (Mick and Keith are personally handpicking the "Exile" outtakes.  The "Ya-Ya's" extras will include five songs -- Prodigal Son, You Gotta Move, Under My Thumb, I'm Free, Satisfaction -- that were recorded at the band's 1969 Madison Square Garden shows.)

Meanwhile, already in bookstores is Under Their Thumb, a memoir from Beggars Banquet's own Bill German.  It details his 17 years as the editor/publisher of the Stones' official newsletter, and features dozens of never-before-seen Stones photos.  It's available at all Borders and Barnes & Noble stores or through Amazon.

Las three tour announcements were done in Brooklyn, The Bronx and then Manhattan.

They should therefore do the next one somewhere in Queens. Or on the Staten Island Ferry.

Harlem's not one of the five boroughs.
It's a neighborhood in Manhattan.

They've done almost every kind of grand entrance from boats, flatbeds, trains and the yellow zepplin. Maybe a full blown 747 with Stones Lips all over flown in by that NYC hero pilot Sully? Hmmmm and for only $1200 each fan can be on board. 346 seats x 1200 = 415k before the tour is even announced. That's Hard Cohl Cash!

Bridges to Babylon had the obvious 'bridge' theme. I wonder what Prospect Park represents, is it SYMBOLIC in any way?

Prospect Park is a 585-acre (2.37 km2) (237 ha)[3] public park in the New York City borough of Brooklyn located between Park Slope, Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, Kensington, Windsor Terrace and Flatbush Avenue, Grand Army Plaza and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. It is run and operated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation and is part of the Brooklyn-Queens Greenway.

The park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux after they completed Manhattan's Central Park. Attractions include the Long Meadow, a 90-acre (36 ha) meadow thought to be the largest meadow in any U.S. park;[citation needed] the Picnic House, which houses offices and a hall that can accommodate parties with up to 175 guests; Litchfield Villa, the home of Edwin Clark Litchfield, an early developer of the neighborhood and a former owner of a southern section of the Park;[4] Prospect Park Zoo; a large nature conservancy managed by the Wildlife Conservation Society; The Boathouse, housing a visitors center and the first urban Audubon Center;[5] Brooklyn's only lake, covering 60 acres (24 ha); the Prospect Park Bandshell that hosts free outdoor concerts in the summertime; and various sports and fitness activities including seven baseball fields. There is also a private Society of Friends cemetery on Quaker Hill near the ball fields, where actor Montgomery Clift is interred.[6]
Approximately 17,000 years ago the terminal moraine of the receding Wisconsin Glacier that formed Long Island established a string of hills and kettles in the northern part of the park and a lower lying outwash plain in the southern part.[7] [8] Mount Prospect, or Prospect Hill, near the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Eastern Parkway, rises 200 feet (61 m) above sea level[9] and is the highest among a string of hills that extends into the park, including Sullivan, Breeze, and Lookout hills. The area was originally forested, but became open pasture after two centuries of European colonization. Significant stands of trees remained only in the peat bogs centered south of Ninth Street and Flatbush Avenues, and in a large bog north of Ninth Avenue and contained chestnut, white poplar, and oak.[10] Some of these stands were preserved in the Park's Ravine and have been popularized as 'The Last Forest of Brooklyn.'[11]

During the American Revolution the Park was a site of the Battle of Long Island. American forces attempted to hold Battle Pass, an opening in the terminal moraine where the old Flatbush Road passed from Brooklyn to Flatbush. It fell after some of the heaviest fighting in the engagement, and its loss contributed to George Washington's decision to retreat. The City of Brooklyn built a reservoir on Prospect Hill in 1856. Preserving the Battle Pass area and keeping the lots around the reservoir free of buildings were two reasons for establishing a large park in the area.[12]

...

Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903) and Calvert Vaux (1824-1895) included an intricate network of wetlands in their design for Prospect Park. Collectively named the Watercourse, the park’s aquatic features include the Ravine, Lullwater, Pagoda Pond, Swanboat Lake, and the 60-acre Prospect Lake. These wetlands emerged from a combination of park design and ice age glacial terrain.

They should have a whole bunch of tribute bands show up on rooftops all over the world and play. Then they should show up on a NY rooftop themselves, play a couple of tunes, and announce the tour. Make it a surprise so people get all excited when the tribute bands start playing and create a buzz.
