iPod????  I have no such an item.  Nor would I ever want one of these things.  No more technology PLEASE!

I don't understand why people want this thing.  And just how many hours does it cause you to spend putting mp3 files onto it?  When does a person find that time?  How do you think of (know of or remember) all the music you would want to put on it?  This sounds to me like a full-time job with no pay....you pay for it!

I am not from the age of technology.

I still use the tried and true stereo and cd changer.

Happy listening, whichever way you do that.

peace n love,
Martha

Martha, I completely understand your concerns regarding the i-Pod. I felt the same as you for a good while - until I realised what an awesome piece of kit it actually is. Compiling playlists actually brings me a lot of joy and takes me back to the days when I would spend hours-upon-hours making up my own cassette compilations.

For what its worth: I still buy CD'S and still use my hi-fi to play them on. I refuse to use I-Tunes to purchase my music - as I still prefer to actually have the physical item!

Thank you Honky Tonk Man.  I really appreciate what you shared, and I know I am not gonna make the transition.  I love my CD's and SACD's. And our 2 stereos are so awesome I can't imagine listening to music on this computer (ugh) instead.  Would that iPod thing would hook into our stereos?  I don't want to listen to inferior sounding music. I'm half deaf as it is!  I have constant ringing in my ears now.   So I never use those mini speaker ear plugs.  Never.

And the whole time involvement...no way!  I would need a pay check to compensate me for all that work and time.  I have a household to care for and 4 male cats to keep my eyes on, which does not leave me with the time it must take to load up an i-Pod with endless hours of music.  My house would become a trash pit.  My brain would never stop spinnin'!  LOL

And I so love XM/Sirius radio...which I listen to constantly....I do not have to do anything but decide on which channel to listen to and.  Voila!  I am hooked on Siriusly Sinatra, Bluesville, Deep Tracks, the Holiday channels, and others....Willie's Place, The Boss's channel and The Dead channel.  Lots of listening pleasure there.  That's as much time as I am able to commit to getting my music fix.

peace n love,
Martha

MP3 players can be used via a hi-fi, but as far as I’m aware, most won’t allow you to do the same with am i-Pod: my hi-fi is old – but very good! – so doesn’t have a scart lead to play any kind of mp3 device – it just gets used for good ‘ol CD’s and vinyl!
