You must have an 80 full to the brim!

yeah, I've had to delete quite a lot lately in fact - was up to about 17,500 at one point. My pc crashed a while back and I had to add them all again from my soulseek folder (21,000 plus) but couldnt get as many on this time. I must have added a few covers as well!

Out of curiosity Gazza, are you just whacking entire albums on your i-Tunes and whittling things down for your playlists, or are you being selective from the off-set? I now have 2,302 songs on my i-Tunes and each playlist is carefully crafted. I have 400+ Stones tunes, but in fact, live concerts aside, not one studio album in its entirety – Exile included! Same with the Beatles: 120+ tracks, but no complete albums – just 3 era-separated playlists: Beatlemania, The Druggy Years and The Final Years

Complete albums (in some cases, complete collections).

There's quite a few scattered individual tracks, here and there, though - but I dont tend to 'edit' albums.

There's not that many bootlegs on it, either. I simply don't have the room.

This afternoon's 'Gazza Shuffle' (a song I expect the Stones to cover on their next album ..)

Lawyers, Guns & Money – Warren Zevon
The Fever – Bruce Springsteen
Lake Marie – John Prine
Fear – Little Steven
Rainbows – Dennis Wilson
Get Back To The Country – Neil Young
The Long Black Veil – Johnny Cash
He Can Only Hold Her – Amy Winehouse
Talkin’ Blue – Bob Marley & the Wailers
I Once Knew Love – Carlene Carter
Melancholia – Pete Townshend
Tennessee Plates – John Hiatt
Love Is Here To Stay – Lou Reed
Spell – Patti Smith
I Think It’s Gonna Work Out Fine – Ry Cooder
Wigwam – Bob Dylan
Moon River – Frank Sinatra
Guilty Train – Neil Young (from ‘Archives Be Damned’ bootleg)
I Will – The Beatles
I Can’t Reach you – The Who
What’s He Building In There – Tom Waits
Concrete Jungle – Bob Marley & The Wailers
Texarkana – REM
Nightswimming – REM
Rip It Up – Little Richard
Watered Down Love – Bob Dylan
Doin’ My Time – Johnny Cash
Edwards Thrump Up – Rolling Stones/Jammin’ with Edward
Misty Morning, Albert Bridge – The Pogues
No Religion – Van Morrison
In My Life – Johnny Cash
Thrasher – Neil Young
Betty Jean – Chuck Berry (from ‘Rockin’ at the Hops’ – the album Keith noticed that Mick was carrying under his arm on that historic day at Dartford Train Station)
Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat – Bob Dylan
Jimmy Jazz – The Clash

OK.  I have an idea...
We all use ITunes to put our "favorite music" on our iPod.  Lets go to our iTunes Music and refresh Itunes DJ and list the 15 songs that come up there.  This should be much more interesting, because if you are like me, all your guilty pleasures are there(163GB worth).   So no deleting any of them-even if they are Bon Jovi, U2, or the Eagles.
Here's mine:
1.  Miss Amanda Jones-Rolling Stones- Between the Buttons
2.  Weddings-Theme Time Radio-Bob Dylan
3.  Daylight Out- Jennifer O'Connor-Here With Me ( don't have a clue where this came from-LOL)
4.  Youth of 1,000 Summers- Van Morrison- Enlightenment
5.  Cherry Ball Blues- Ry Cooder-Ry Cooder Anthology
6.  Working on the Highway- Bruce Springsteen-St. Paul -MN 6/29/84
7.  The Continental- Prince- O(+>
8.  Pink Cadillac- Bruce Springsteen- a live version from 84-god only knows what show
9.  You Don't Have to Go featuring Neil Young- Jerry Lee Lewis- Last Man Standing
10. 6'1'' - Liz Phair- Exile in Guyville
11. I Still Have That Other Girl- Elvis Costello and Bill Frisell- Sweetest Punch:  The Songs of Costello and Bacharach
12. Growin' Up- Bruce Springsteen- Agora Night 1978
13. The Spirit of Giving- The New Pornographers- Challengers
14. Talkin World War III Blues- Bob Dylan- Bootleg Series 6
15. Black Dog- Led Zepplin

Music, to me, is the joy, right? I love my kids most of the time, and I love my wife most of the time. Music I love all the time. It's the only constant thing in my life. It's the one thing you can count on. :Keith Richards 1993

Here's my first 20 (out of a mere 1704), and I think it's a contender for "most eclectic," though it doesn't seem very random considering howe often Sinatra came up:
1. Drivin':  The Kinks
2. Deja Vu:  CSNY
3. Orchestral Suite #1 in C Major:  J.S. Bach
4. Back Street Slide:  Richard & Linda Thompson
5. Mr. Churchill Says:  The Kinks
6. Strange:  Patsy Cline
7. Baby I Need Your Loving:  The Four Tops
8. Sweet Little Rock and Roller:  Chuck Berry
9. Disease of Conceit:  Bob Dylan (my theme song, per Nanky)
10. I Couldn't Care Less:  Frank Sinatra
11. Your Cheatin' Heart:  Hank Williams
12. M'Lady:  Sly & the Family Stone
13. Dusky Stevedore:  Louis Armstrong
14. Only the Lonely:  Frank Sinatra
15. Sinfonia Concertante in E flat Major:  W.A. Mozart
16. All of Me:  Frank Sinatra
17. Stoned Love:  The Supremes
18. Big River:  Johnny Cash
19. My Guy:  Mary Wells
20. Join the Band:  Little Feat
