if his body can't hack it anymore, that is....and taking into consideration the punishment he took tonight, that might be the case.

however, he had, statistically speaking, the best year of his career this year...and we won't be losing many players, save perhaps pat williams....

Colts open as 5 point faves with the over/under at 56. Think the points will move down more toward 3.5 and the over up to close to 60 by game time. Good luck and congrats to all. I am now rejoining my fellow Steeler fans in the draft room.

as much as i would like to see the saints win, i don't see it happening. besides the first drive or two, i wasn't really all that impressed with the saints' supposedly explosive powerhouse offense. we contained them fairly well and put up close to 500 yards of offense. not that the vikes deserved to win, because with six fumbles and two INTs that surely isn't the case, but the saints pretty much played well enough not to lose.

i hope i'm wrong...indy won a few years back...share the wealth i say (sorry riffy!)....but i will pick the colts...final score about 28 - 17. peyton is the best QB in the game today.

Bucky

If Favre leaves you guys still won't give the ball to Rosenfels or Jackson. McNabb will come to you guys.

Peterson is a beast but holds the ball like a mouse. WTF?

Buckopeterson, I counted 15 takedowns of Farve.  You would never beat the Dolts with that O line.
I'm looking to survey the landscape for the Soup Bowl.  Pressed for an early read-Saints.
Oh, btw, look back on this thread to note who called it for you.  This was meant to take the sting out of the int with less than 30 sec left in the 4th.  This is the poor old guys mo in this game, in those conditions, see '07 vs Gints.  Here's hoping he does go away, however, that's a bet I'm not taking.

Brett Favre's return for another season is "highly unlikely, but it has been an awesome year," the Minnesota Vikings quarterback told ESPN's Ed Werder after the Vikings' loss to the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.

let's face it: if your team were just an elite QB away from the chance to rid yourself and your fans of the abject suffering they have endured for almost 50 years, wouldn't you want favre back? the dude threw seven interceptions all season and had the highest passer rating of his career this year. without favre, we aren't division champs and might not even make the wild card round. he may be a drama queen, but he is one of the best signal callers ever...just try to deny it!

meanwhile, the purple start their search over again for our first real QB since fran tarkenton (not counting brett of course).

seriously...howe much misery can one team suffer? besides the bills (sorry LJ), nobody knows the troubles i've seen!

my god nellie...the saints were so beatable yesterday. the vikings killed them on first downs, time of possession, rushing yards, receiving yards...hell, every major category the vikes kicked ass!

except....(sniff)....takeaways.

that's it...i'm taking the next few days off. shoey, hold my calls.

8 things that will happen if the Saints win the Super Bowl

1.)      Alcohol shortages:  all groceries, convenience stores and drug stores within a 100 mile radius of New Orleans will completely sell out of beer, wine and liquor.  You should stock up at least a week in advance, otherwise you will be stuck with soda and water.

2.)      Extreme noise:  the sounds of 1.13 million cheering fans in metro New Orleans will reach more than 500 decibels.  Hundreds of thousands of stomping feet will create shockwaves and tremors as far away as Houston and Atlanta.

3.)      Regional smoke screen and CO2 emissions:  smoke from barbeque pits,
fireworks and bonfires will create a 250 mile long cloud in the sky that will be
seen from satellites and on Google Earth.  Tens of thousands of residents will
boil seafood in their backyards and CO2 emissions from the burning propane
tanks will create a hole in the ozone above New Orleans.

4.)      Total gridlock: crowds of people trying to get to the French Quarter will back up traffic all the way to Bay St. Louis.  Just park on Judge Perez and walk the rest of the way.   The line at Pat O’s will end somewhere in the Marigny and the spillover from Bourbon Street will run all the way to Decatur.

5.)      New Orleans will put out 3 more port-o-lets: In response to the massive crowds, the city will put 3 more port-o-lets for a grand total of 12.  This will increase ratio of toilets to people to an impressive 1 toilet per 24, 000 visitors.  The wait time to pee will drop from five hours to only three.

6.)       The city will use parking tickets to fund Nagin’s world travels: The City of N.O. Parking Enforcement will mark the date on the calendar and send out busloads of meter maids to issue thousands of tickets to those having a good time downtown.  They’ll use the proceeds to send Nagin on a luxury 13-day cruise down the Nile followed by a jaunt into space with Richard Branson.

7.)      Who Dat migration: Thousands of vehicles, mostly Chevy Silverados with fleur de lis stickers in the back windows will travel all over I-10, I-12, I-49, I-55.  “Who Dat” will be heard at dozens of gas stations which will subsequently sell out of Bud Light.  Those fans lucky enough to have gone to Miami will litter the interstate between N.O. and Miami with beer cans and chicken bones.

8.)      Thousands of televisions will need to be replaced:  Country folk WhoDats on the NorthShore and in wooded areas surrounding N.O. will shoot out their televisions in excitement.

if AP doesn't fumble, we should take it. that, however, is a big if.

I'd be more concerned about the old man throwing ints.

um....SCL? hello? anybody home? think, mcfly....

brett threw a career low in INTs this year.

I really hate to say I told you so....OK,no I don't. I TOLD YOU SO you made a grown man cry......Actually it should of never come to that. Terrible pass interfence call on the Saints in the end zone. Allowed the purple ones to cover the number. Colts/Jets was a good one. Nice to see Garcon have a big game. As for the Bowl. Sentiment has me rooting for the Saints for EG and some other friends I know down in cajun country. But realisticly, take them out of the dome, combined with Peyton's desire to secure his legacy. Gotta say Indy wins....and possibly covers. Developing. Undecided

as much as i would like to see the saints win, i don't see it happening. besides the first drive or two, i wasn't really all that impressed with the saints' supposedly explosive powerhouse offense. we contained them fairly well and put up close to 500 yards of offense. not that the vikes deserved to win, because with six fumbles and two INTs that surely isn't the case, but the saints pretty much played well enough not to lose.

i hope i'm wrong...indy won a few years back...share the wealth i say (sorry riffy!)....but i will pick the colts...final score about 28 - 17. peyton is the best QB in the game today.

BuckyO'Peterson....

Wrong on Manning. I will give that Seyton is best this year, but not the decade.
Here's why...

Manning ended the decade hot, due to this year.  People remember the latest thing
Played 1/2 of each season in a dome
Played with fantastic support staff, ie receivers, defense
Played with same Offensive Coordinator for majority of time
POST SEASON
21 TD's, 17 INT
Manning 8-7 in post season
Only won one ring.

Who is it then for the decade?  Who else but Tom Brady.

Entire career outside.
Able to produce with less support staff, always revolving players
Has had several O coordinators.
Comeback Player of the Year
POST SEASON
25 TD's, 12 INT
Brady 14-4 in post season
Super Bowl MVP twice
Has three Super Bowl rings.

Upward & Onward!

Brady has also been to the Super Bowl four times and the AFC Championship five times. I would say they should have been in the Superbowl five times...that year they lost to Indy 38-34...they blew it.
