I'd be pissed if i was Manning....
The man is a Hall of Famer, has his Superbowl ring and will most likely get another one, but a chance at an undefeated season comes once in a lifetime.....
Caldwell made a practical decision for the team, but Manning deserved a shot at going undefeated as one of the greatest QBs in history.
I was rooting for the Saints to lose so the Colts/Manning could go all the way...
Don't think for a minute that this was not Caldwell's decision, he's a puppet for the Evil doer Polian, the owner. One of the most embarrassing moments ever for an NFL Franchise.
That QB never had an NFL snap. Give him some snaps a few weeks ago, ok.
Not when they had the opportunity to eliminate a potential playoff opponent in the J E T S, who they let in the door by this stupid move. You cannot let teams enter the tournament by playing 2nd string.
So now, Colts played 1/2 of their 1st string of a game this week, probably 1/2 next Sunday, have the bye the week after that. All said & done, the team will have not played as a unit for almost a month.
Continuity breeds excellence. Colts will be ripe for a loss in the 1st round they play....
