Yeah Bruschi was always fun to watch. Not to mention being a starter on the all-name team. Let's go get drunk

Happy retirement Teddy.

He was no Derrick Brooks.

Tedy Bruschi was a guy you rooted for even if he didn't play for your team.
His comeback after a stroke only increased that admiration.

NFC Playoff Teams:

Playoff results are way off...injuries will play their normal huge role. Enjoy the season guys. Good luck to all the non band wagon fans. You know who you are.

Yeah,if Bucky hadn't already added a stupid poll when I satrted this thread,we could have had a Super Bowl prediction poll. Not that I have a clue who'll win. But I won't rule out my Niners winning the NFC mild, mild west. 9-7 might do it.

Isn't Brooks still decent? Why hasn't anyone signed him?

Brett Favre told ESPN before the Minnesota Vikings' game on Monday that he suspects he may have a cracked rib.

Favre hasn't had an official diagnosis, but he says taking a deep breath causes discomfort. The 39-year-old quarterback isn't listed on the injury report and no other other Vikings official mentioned the injury pregame.

The three-time MVP says he has no plans to wear any kinds of special padding, saying "the damage is done." Favre is expected to play the entire first half against the Houston Texans.

Favre's agent Bus Cook wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press that he didn't know if Favre has a cracked rib but "he'll play as far as I know."

The 39-year-old Favre was on the field warming up with the rest of Minnesota's quarterbacks about 45 minutes before the start of the game and was still scheduled to start.

Favre was expected to play the entire first half against the Texans. He wasn't listed on the injury report, and none of his teammates mentioned the injury before the game.

Favre, who signed a $25 million deal with the Vikings on Aug. 18, completed just one pass for four yards over two series in his Minnesota debut just days later

I was really sorry to see him go, he deserved better.  He's the best Buc player ever and gave as much time to charities and his college as anyone.  He really slowed down last season and out right looked bad during that four game collapse down the stretch.  Last I read he was trying to get on with the Saints..not sure what his status is now.

I didn't know about that. I thought for sure someone would give him a shot.

In his prime he was all over the field--one of the best sideline to sideline LB's. He could shuffle like a cat!

Brett Farve could have only hoped he retired like Tedy Bruschi did.

GK is right - though I have to take out the Bears and put in the Falcs.  Bears D is not what it was a few  years ago, and D. Hester as your #1 receiver isn't good news (a Ravens fan has this _ much room to talk WRs).  Tony G in Atlanta will make the offense beastly, as good as NO's offense.  For the AFC, the only question mark is the Titans - Jax or Houston may overtake them.

My bottom 2 seeds in each league were very tough calls. Peter King in Sports I llustrated just picked Bears for Super Bowl losing to Pats. I think Fisher gets the Titans through in AFCS. Ravens could topple Steelers if they can manage to stay healthier than Steelers. Injuries decide that race I think. Falcons will drop back a bit as their D is suspect. Saints move to the top in a close race with Panthers and Falcons.

Pats have a tough opponent this week in the Giants.
They play tough, are coached well, are good in all three phases of the game.
We still have work to do on special teams, as well as refine our secondary.
This is the last pre-season game, time to make decisions
on the team which takes the field for the opener.

Tom is fine, he has Gisele is tending to his needs.
He noted yesterday he took an odd fall.
He also said most people would take a bit to
come back from being pummeled to the
ground by a 350 lb linebacker.
Tom will be listed as probable vs. the Giants

We need to come prepared for each game every week.
Our players will determine our destiny.
Every team member needs to do their job.
Everything else will take care of itself.
